One of the biggest issues I seem to notice with the team is lack of dedication. I can't quite put my finger on it but it does seem like the players for the Browns don't really want to be out there playing for Cleveland. It's like they don't care and just want to play poorly or get themselves traded to another team. That may not be the case for all the players but it sure seems like the mentality of the team itself. For instance, take Jeff Garcia, who was with the Cleveland Browns, he did not play as great as he could have for them but when he left, it was like he was playing a lot better and had more desire. Without dedication and desire on the players, this team will continue to play mediocre at best. I really believe this team could do much more than they are showing.
Another issue I find with the team is constant injuries. Now that I don't understand why it seems like the Browns get more injuries than any other franchise. I guess the players are either not working out right or some equipment is not working properly. I've never quite figured that out but it seems like the team gets injured way too easily. Something must be done to correct that problem and it does hurt them especially when it comes to trying to make the playoffs. If the top players are getting hurt all the time, it really makes it hard on the team to try to contend.
I actually find that ownership needs to seriously get behind this team and do what it takes to keep a team together. If the team is not used to each other, how are they expected to get to the playoffs? I really believe that if a team doesn't have that type of chemistry, there is no chance that this team will even win that many games. Yes I know there's pre-season but it doesn't matter at all. A team could play real good during that time but do really bad during the regular season. I would like to see more effort in the ownership that wants to see this team succeed and not be the lone Cleveland team in sports to not into the playoffs.
I know playoffs were mentioned a lot but the key is to make the playoffs, a team has to do well in all areas. Coaching will need to improve and there needs to be something that could be done to help motivate the team. If the coach is motivated to improve this offense and defense, the coach shall win championships. Good coaching does equal championships. I do know that the AFC North is not exactly the easiest division with the Ravens, Bengals, and Steelers playing rather solid.
The city of Cleveland has never seen their team win the Super Bowl or for that matter reach that level. If being mediocre is expected for this team, which is all that the team will go. The players have to really go out and prove themselves to the fans that they want to be there and help get this team together. I do think the Browns can get to the playoffs and go to the big dance; they just have to go out there and be ready at all costs. Play strong and have good defense. That is the only way that the Cleveland Browns will ever and I mean ever win a Super Bowl.
