Clever Uses for Marshmallows

Not Just for Hot Chocolate!

Dina Montgomery
I remember sipping hot chocolate with marshmallows floating on top when I was a kid. For some reason the marshmallows just made the hot chocolate taste better. I loved sitting around a campfire and roasting the big marshmallows on a stick, now that was the life. You can also use marshmallows for all sorts of different things. Here are some of the clever uses for marshmallows.

Clever uses for marshmallows: Polish your toes

When it's time to put a fresh coat of polish on your toes, you can easily and comfortably separate your toes with the big marshmallows. Just place a marshmallow between each of your toes to separate the toes so you can apply the fresh coat of polish without of fear of smearing.

Clever uses for marshmallows: No mess ice cream

Next time you want to enjoy an ice cream, just put a few miniature marshmallows in the ice cream cone before you add the ice cream. When the ice cream starts to melt, the marshmallow will keep the ice cream from running out of the bottom.

Clever uses for marshmallows: No mess birthday cake

Next time you are celebrating a birthday and you bring out the birthday cake, instead of putting the candles directly onto the cake's frosting, insert the candles into marshmallows and then place the marshmallow with the candle right into the frosting of the cake. When the candle wax starts to melt, it won't melt onto the frosting, it will melt onto the marshmallow and you can simply throw the candles and marshmallows in the trash. The marshmallow will also add a festive look to the birthday cake making it even prettier.

Clever uses for marshmallows: Soft brown sugar

To keep brown sugar soft after you have already opened the bag, simply place a few marshmallows in the bag before resealing it. The moisture from the marshmallows will keep the brown sugar soft for weeks.

Clever uses for marshmallows: Instant frosting

If you have already gotten your cupcakes in the oven and just realized you are out of frosting, don't worry, you can still save the day. Just get some big marshmallows and about two minutes before the cupcakes are ready to come out of the oven, place a marshmallow on each cupcake. When you take the cupcakes out of the oven you will have instant, delicious frosting.

These are just some of the creative uses that you can create with marshmallows.

Awesome! I never thought about the ice cream cone thing! That'd help so much! I wonder if I could bring marshmallows to an ice cream shop and insist on it being in there . . . LOL
