Click to Donate Sites: 70 Places to Make Instant Impact Online - Free!

Jennifer Waite
Today, I gave six days of clean drinking water to a village, helped finance a small loan, helped a village feed itself, preserved the rainforest, gave access to education, donated cat and dog food, helped fund a mammogram and planted an oak tree. I did all this, and I never left the house. In fact, I didn't even have to get out of my pajamas. Thanks to the rather basic wonder of click-to-donate sites, I can lend a hand without lifting a finger. Well, fine, I have to fit a finger, and then press it down again; but that's about it.

Click-To-Donate Sites: Have You Clicked Today?

Click-to-donate sites such as Care 2, The Rainforest Site, Ripple.org and others (find a list of over 70 click-to-donate sites right here) help people support causes without signing up, shelling out or phoning in. For the majority of these web sites, which support a wide variety of social causes, there is no registration, collection of information or cost to participate; and yes, you are making a difference! Causes you can choose to support with your daily clicks include:

Breast Cancer Awareness and Mammogram Access

Child Hunger

Domestic Violence

Environmental Concerns

Education

Community Improvement

Foreign Aid

Domestic Aid

Clean Water Access

Wild Animals and Pets

While some detractors may be put off by the ease of clicking to make donations, make no mistake. Advertisers pay these charities when internet traffic arrives on the site, much the same as how I myself get paid. These charities then distribute these funds, which support the causes you've clicked for. At least, this is the theory, and as with any charitable donation, you have to do your research, find reputable organizations that support the causes you want to assist, and then cross your fingers.

Though simple, the collective clicks of many can make a big impact. There is literally something for everyone; want to plant a tree? Click here! Want to preserve a few acres of the rainforest? Right here. Most of these click-to-donate sites let you click for your cause, and also give you tabs to continue clicking for other causes. You can usually only click once per day, but that one click can give an animal in a shelter much-needed kibble, or help fund part of a mammogram for a woman in need of free cancer screening.
