Click Potato Scam

There is an offender on the internet that has been doing the rounds for quite some time, its name is Click Potato and if bumped into should be avoided at all costs to save potential problems on your computer.

You may bump into Click Potato Scam as a Video or Media Player Codec when surfing to watch movies on the internet. Be aware that this Codec is not what it makes out to be.

When you hit the Click Potato Media Player for the first time you will be asked to download the Media Software to enable use of the video playing sotware. DO NOT INSTALL IT!

Whether Click Potato is a genuine company or not, it goes without saying that there Codec seems to be infected with malicious software such as fake and cloned anti-virus software. This fake software is going to cause all kinds of problems relating to bootup, registry and your current anti-virus software.

There are a few ways to remove Click Potato's Malware, but the best method has to be via the Malware Bytes Free Anti-Virus Program which is also probably the quickest method for the less tech savvy users on the internet.

You can find Malware Bytes free Anti-Virus Software by performing a Yahoo Search for 'Free Malware Bytes'

You May have to use another computer to download Malware Bytes and install it onto your current computer if it is infected with any Click Potato Viruses.

You may find Click Potato via links at many Free Online Movies Websites such as Watch Movies Online Links. If anybody from Watch Online Movies Links reads this article you would do well to remove the links for the sake of you many users and members.

Is Click Potato Scam worthy of being deemed a scam?

It is hard to judge this one, Click potato does seem to be genuine with its intentions, but may have tapped into something unwanted and hard to get rid of, maybe even cloned themselves, but it is definitely worth avoiding anything to do with the software and Codec for now until the company flat out states on its website that it has removed any offending links to malicious downloads.
