Climate Change is Accelerating

According to Julienne Stroeve, from the US National Snow and Ice Data Center, "The sea ice is entering a new state where the ice cover has become so thin that no matter what happens during the summer in terms of temperature or circulation patterns, you're still going to have very low ice conditions."

Satellite-based measurements are the best evidence the scientific community has to go on since the Antarctic environment is so hostile. However, some scientists have determined to brave the frozen wilderness and have set out on foot with heavy equipment to measure ice thickness. Considering the rapid melting and the possible consequences, satellite data just isn't enough.

Since Antarctic ice sheets are melting faster than previously estimated, scientists warn that rising sea levels pose a far worse threat than previously thought. There is now a serious risk to many coastal areas around the world.

Heads of state, scientists, and policy makers will come together to sort through all of the data gathered since the last IPCC report was issued. In view of all the negative scientific data on climate change that has come out so far, the next IPCC report is expected to be very disturbing.

There are a number of people who believe that only those along the coastal areas will be affected by these alarming statistics, which is far from the truth. Climates around the world could change drastically from what we see today. Several regions could turn very cold or very hot very fast. There would be mass migration, famine, disease, and much conflict as the economy fails worldwide.

There are so many issues to deal with today that it's nearly impossible to keep up with them all. Poor countries are struggling with serious clean water and food shortages. What's more,due to modern transportation, diseases for which there is no cure are traveling around the world before countries have a chance to close their borders. Earthquakes and tsunamis are not only becoming more frequent they are getting more intense. There is war and threat of war in nearly every part of the world.

The planetary alignment which is supposed to be complete by December 21, 2012 is believed by a number of people to be influencing our climate and that as we near 2012 it will get much worse. The gravitational pull along with sun flares could spawn super storms and other climatic disturbances.

Violence in the Middle East is escalating and for the first time in history, war could actually come to our own shores. The economy isn't getting any better and people are becoming paranoid and cold-hearted. The world is full of liars and thieves from the White House to the common person and no one knows whom to trust anymore.

"And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars but the end; is not yet and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."

"And there shall be signs; in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth."

"For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be."

Those of us who have been watching for the signs as Jesus instructed know full well what is happening, what the world is headed for, and basically what to do. However, Jesus also said there would be a great deception.

Some Christians believe that climate change and global warming are part of a conspiracy along with 2012 to desensitize us to the point that we'll no longer heed warnings of any kind; or perhaps divert our attention from what's really happening.

It seems inconceivable that so many scientists worldwide could be giving out false information. Nevertheless, a number of those who study these things are saying that something sinister is going on within our government and that we are being deliberately bombarded with dooms day scenarios. It's as if we are being mentally and emotionally prepared.

Climate change, at this point (provided the information we are receiving is correct) does seem unavoidable and considering its rapid progress we should prepare for stronger storms, colder winters and hotter summers.

Be that as it may, we should prepare to meet the Lord of the universe who is able to make us worthy to escape the things which are coming upon the whole world.
