Clinique's Touch Blush in Apricot Vs. Maybelline's Dream Mousse Blush

Find Out Which Blusher Came on Top in This Personal Study

Sue Ellen K.
Everywhere you see, you see women in magazines with impeccable make-up. Part of their cosmetic routine includes using a good blusher. We usually know blushers to come in a square shaped container which comes with a little brush. Well, a new type of blusher has pushed its way to the front. You may have seen them in drug stores and even at malls. These blushers come in little pots, if you will, of color. They are meant to be applied by hand. The two blushers that I purchased to try out were Maybelline's Dream Mousse Blush in Soft Plum and Clinique's Touch Blush in Apricot. So I put these two to the test to see which comes out on top as the victor.

When I purchased Clinique's Touch Blush in Apricot, I was more than excited. First of all, it was a brand name from a department store. Everyone knows what Clinique is...and if you don't, it's probably because you live in a box! Clinique is pricier make up that is supposed to be good quality. So of course, I expected the best from Clinique's Touch Blush in Apricot. Clinique's Touch Blush in Apricot boasts that the color is weightless and builds easily. Clinique's Touch Blush in Apricot is also supposed to glide on the skin without any effort, and create a natural glow of color. (Sounds promising so far!) Also, Clinique's Touch Blush in Apricot leaves behind a natural, matte like texture that is long lasting. These all sound like great things....until you open up the pot of Clinique's Touch Blush in Apricot. The color was a very bright red...I was almost too afraid to apply it to my skin. I dared to put a little bit of the color or the tip of my finger and gingerly applied it to my cheeks. I noticed immediately that the color wasn't going to blend. Not only that, but the color was too bright! It was not natural at all! The blend- ability factor was down there with zero. There was no way to properly blend this product into my cheeks. Even though I used a small amount of Clinique's Touch Blush in Apricot, I almost looked like a clown. Clinique's Touch Blush in Apricot also had tiny sparkles embedded in it that were sure to clog up my pores. I also noted that Clinique's Touch Blush in Apricot dried up pretty fast in the pot. It did not last as long as it's counterpart, Maybelline's Dream Mousse Blush in Soft Plum.

Maybelline's Dream Mousse Blush in Soft Plum is, was, and will always remain a wonderful dream. This stuff comes in a slightly larger pot and is less than half the amount of Clinique's Touch Blush in Apricot. Maybelline's Dream Mousse Blush in Soft Plum was actually the first blusher to come in the form of a mousse-like texture and in a little pot. So you can say that Maybelline's Dream Mousse Blush in Soft Plum started the whole mousse craze in the cosmetic world. Maybelline's Dream Mousse Blush in Soft Plum doesn't fade, crease, and it glides on so easily! It blends like a dream, and leaves a beautiful hint of color behind on your cheeks. The best part is, you can control how heavy or how light you want the color on your cheeks to appear with Maybelline's Dream Mousse Blush in Soft Plum. Fortunately for us with sensitive skin, Maybelline's Dream Mousse Blush in Soft Plum is dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic. That's good news because it makes us feel more comfortable with the fact that Maybelline's Dream Mousse Blush in Soft Plum won't clog pores. How great is that? What girl doesn't want an affordable, silky, and blend-able blusher! You'd find that in Maybelline's Dream Mousse Blush in Soft Plum, and you'd never want to buy another kind! Who ever said that you get what you paid for? Not everything in life has to be expensive to be worth it!
