Clinton V. Obama. Are They the Same Candidate?

Comparing and Contrasting Clinton and Obama. How Are They Different?

theBarefoot
Let's take the topics and see who wins in the end.

She's white. He's black.
Obama is married to a black woman and he is only half-black. Clinton is married to a white man who cheated on her half the time, probably with some black women.

Advantage: Obama. Bill is more baggage than asset.

She's a woman. He's a man.
Clinton's track record of Travelgate, Vince Foster, cattle futures, and preferential contracts to family members proves she has bigger stones than most men. Obama's maleness is random genetics.

Advantage: Clinton. She earned her stones. Now if she only could keep Bill's under control.

Their health plans are the same.
Not true. Clinton wants full government control of health care. Under the guise of non-discrimination, Clinton's proposal includes, "The insurance companies can't deny you coverage if you have a pre-existing condition." I wish my car insurance worked that way. I could wait until after a wreak to take out a policy.

Obama only wants the government to force everyone to have health care at the expense of their employer and with new government programs. His, too, has a "guaranteed eligibility" clause. It also makes coverage for children mandatory. This is looking more like car insurance all the time.

Advantage: Draw. Both plans will tax everyone, strain the economy, and degrade the level of care.

They both will end the Iraq war.
Clinton has a two-year withdrawal plan that will cost half-a-trillion dollars. Obama has a 24-month withdrawal plan that will only cost five-hundred billion dollars. These clearly distinctive plans are still obvious cost savings to continuing the war. America saves money and Al Qaeda only has to buy one red pen and two calendars..

Advantage: Al Qaeda. Two years off to build more IEDs and a date book for their next attacks.

Effective Governing.
This contradictory statement about health care reform from Clinton's web site sums up her effectives. "This is a battle Hillary has fought before -- and she has the scars to prove it. She knows better than anyone how to fight and build the political support to get the job done." When she was first lady, she had her reforms tossed into the Congressional shredder. That shows us how she builds support alright.

Unlike Obama, who has not introduced one bill since his arrival in the U.S. Senate. Obama also has a abysmal attendance record. Since September 2007, Obama has missed almost 80% of the scheduled Senate votes. The old saying is, "When Congress is not in session, no one really notices except our pockets aren't being picked."

Advantage: Obama because less government is good.

Foreign Policy.
Clinton will reach out to our enemies to improve America's image. Obama will talk to dictator's and human-rights abusers to improve America's image. Neither will face the fact that America will always be hated by some group, some where.

Advantage: Canadian passport black market for Americans traveling abroad.

Commander-in-chief.
Clinton is trying to ride Bill's coat-tails in this department. This plan is going to backfire when people start remembering how Bill decimated the U.S. military during his eight years. Her "3AM phone call" commercial isn't helping either. The only 3AM call to the Clinton White House won't be a national crisis. It will be Bill calling drunk from a strip club.

The closest thing to mentioning the military on Obama's site is under the heading "Veterans." Part of this reads, "A grandson of a World War II veteran..." I can't really argue with those stainless qualifications.

Advantage: France. Their military will finally look strong by comparison.

Immigration.
Clinton believes illegal immigration is a crisis and the laws we have are inadequate. She proposes new laws "that respect our immigrant heritage" to redefine everyone's status. Change the rules so no one is illegal. I'm pretty sure this is called amnesty.

Obama believes the brouhaha over immigration is a manufactured crisis designed to make meaningful reform impossible. I guess by turning a blind eye to the issue, it will go away. That is how Obama defines change?

Advantage: Obama. I fear change.

Now we clearly see how different the Democratic candidates are. It's still too close to call a winner, but it's looking like the losers will be the American public.

It is the same everywhere, the moment someone comes to power, they completely forget their voters (i.e.us). They also forget who is paying their wages.(i.e.us). Most of the time they don't even know which country they are ruling.

    Great article,BF!

Great column. The saddest thing, to me anyway, is that in November someone has to win.

What if we just don't vote in November? Chances are, my vote won't count anyway. I'm a Floridian.
