Cliques and Friendship Groups: What's the Difference?
Can a Friendship Group Operate Without Becoming a Clique?
A clique, by definition, is a narrow exclusive circle or group of persons that are held together by common interests, views, or purposes. So, if you don't have anything in common with the group, you can't be a part of the group. This is not fair.
A friendship group is an open group of friends who'll allow people to join the group, despite their differences. However, if the group starts to shut out other people, then it becomes a clique. As long as the people in the group are open-minded and try to accept people, they won't be considered a clique.
In conclusion, a friendship group CAN operate without becoming a clique. As long as the people are accepting and open-minded to different people, different interests and different views; it will function and operate without becoming a clique.
