What I want to discuss about this subject, is the possibility that the USDA will not require for stores to inform consumers that they are buying cloned meats. I know I am not the only person that believes cloning in the first place is wrong. But regardless whether you think it's morally right or not to clone, what do you think about buying meats and not being informed that is from a cloned animal. Personally I don't get why they would even consider selling it and not telling consumers that it is cloned. Nearly every product that we buy now is required to list its ingredients. Fast food restaurants are even required to list how many calories their food has. KFC finally had to admit to using headless cloned chickens. So why should farmers and stores be allowed to sell meats that don't state what kind of meat it is? Are they concerned people would not buy it? I for one would not. As a matter of fact, my family and many others in our town are discussing and making preparations to stop buying meats in the stores at all. I know that is not an option for those people that live inside city limits. So basically those people will be forced to make a decision between eating meats that we have no idea what will happen after they have eaten it for 10-15 years or become vegetarians.
And before you say the Government wouldn't let the stores sell cloned meats if it wasn't safe, turn on your TV and watch the news on how many FDA approved drugs that were safe for us a few years ago are now killing us. How many commercials do you see a day about mass or class action lawsuits against pharmaceutical companies? God Bless the USA. I love this country, but our Government has a habit of approving things without thorough enough research. And I fear that this one is going to turn out to be one of the worst. As said though I'm going to get into that aspect of this, I will go into that at a later date.
So I'm going to end the article with some advice for you, my dedicated readers. Regardless of how you feel about cloning. You have the right to know what you are feeding your families, how it will affect their health, and well being in the future.
