Closed Yahoo Photos a Bit Shocking at First

Focus for Once Two-Supported Services May Result in One Major Victory

RONYAE
If many are like me, they are Yahooligans! As in we hold accounts with Yahoo!, and being slightly taken aback when they realized that Yahoo Photos is closed....and for good- today. It was talk about it during the heat of the summer this year; but as I read further into the 'move' page it hit me that "this whole department is shutdown...like, all the pictures I had saved within their folders, would be-No-are gone!

But it does offer you an opportunity to like I said, 'move' your photos; I was relieved when I scrolled through to find that I had already shared my pictures with Photobucket, Flickr, and possibly Shutterfish. Okay, I know you're wondering on the 'possibly', right? I say this because it's easy to become members of some sites when you accept photo sharing with your friends and/or families, and I have so many memberships until I have to actually write them down somewhere to keep up with them all-sad I know...(I'm laughing now)!

But back to the offset this may cause many Yahooligans! I know it shook me a bit when I realized that I can no longer use the service. After all, it's a part of my Yahoo 360, gees-I mean, this brings up the question of whether I can still upload and share photos the same way.

After doing a bit more searching, I learned that Yahoo supported both Yahoo Photos and Flickr, and the closing of Yahoo Photos was a result of Yahoo wanting to put more focus on Flickr; So all is or wasn't at lost. At least for me it wasn't. I've been a member of Flick for several months now, and I enjoy their services; primarily because it offered almost the same as Yahoo, but there were advanced options to make your photos into slideshows and create larger albums. This was an added joy to being able to share photos with your friends and family members. Granny would love to get pictures of her little joys on a CD, giving her a movie-like experience.

Pertaining to the other 'options' provided on the Yahoo site for the 'move', my experience with Photobucket hasn't been all that bad either. It provides the same as Flick as with the opportunity to make your photos into slideshows, and Photobucket has an option to make subfolders within folders, which may be within other folders-It's Great! But I hate to say that I have to stand neutral on which photo-sharing service is best, because I vote for only those that I know about, and I like them all the same.

And I support the transition; I support Yahoo, and I enjoy the experience and services the site offers.
