Closet Cleaning Tips for Back to School Fashions
Are There Already 6 Pairs of Designer Jeans Hiding in the Closet?
Clean
Take everything out of closet and drawers. Vacuum or sweep out the floor of the closet. Make 3 piles of items. To be repaired, to small, or perfect size. Carefully look over the pile that is to be repaired. If you honestly know that you are not going to mend the clothes donate it. Put the clothes into a bag or basket and immediately take it to your vehicle.
The stack of clothing that is too small, can be sold at a consignment store. Or you can get an immediate profit at Once Upon A Child . If the clothes are name brand, a no cost way to sell them is by seasons on www.Craiglist.org . Simply group the clothes together with a brief list, and your asking price. It does help if the items look clean and crisp on the digital photo. If ironing is out of the question, place the clothes briefly in the dryer with a few dryer sheets. Place these clothes in a bag or basket and remove them from the bedroom.
Inventory
Write a list of all of the things that you do have. Separate the clothes into seasons. Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer. See what category is lacking. Decide how many clothes you would like for your children to have. If you are comfortable with two weeks on outfits in each season, stick with that. Prepare a budget on how much you will spend.
Shop
Always keep in mind the dollar amount that you are spending. Know what is important to you before you shop. With the rising gas prices, you may be shopping on a bit of a tighter budget. Decide first, what is important. If quality jeans and name brands are important to you, shop specifically for that.
Shop at stores like Once upon a child. Then move on to nice thrift or upscale consignment shops. From there visit discount stores that carry name brands such as Ross, TJ Maxx, or Marshalls. Then if you still do not have what you are looking for look for sales online, and make department stores your last option. To minimize the amount of gas that you spend, select several stores that are in a close location. Try to pick a day that you already have some errands to do.
Taking a few hours to sort through closets can seem like something you can put off for later. By taking action today, you can be better prepared for back to school. Having the basic wardrobe together during the school year will give you more time during the school year.
There is nothing worse than winter approaching, and you realize you have to make time to shop for winter clothes. Waiting to the last moment may have your son or daughter scrambling for something appropriate to wear. Spend some time now so that you can use your energy during the school year for academics and unexpected problems that will arise.
