Closetful of Skeletons

Annie Jean Brewer
Stupid People
Hide the initial act
Out of stupidity,
Or cowardice.

Watch it grow and balloon
Spiraling out of control
Those who discover, blackmail.

If eventually one grows the cojones
To fess up the initial deed
The lengths to conceal that closet
Of skeletons
Now opened, revealed.

Cry, apologise!
You ramble on and on in relief
Expect sympathy
Pity
And love.

What about the heart
Ripped out of my chest?
Stomped on, destroyed
Pointless agonizing pain!

A simple sentence
A Mere phrase
Spoken ages ago to reveal
The Truth
Would have prevented worlds of heartache.

nicely done; and of course its always better to share your secrets before they become skeletons locked away ...only to later be discovered and cause so much more pain than if they were originally dealt with.

Very good. One little lie or secret can sometimes spiral out of control.

Clean it up and it'll be a great poem! lol You know me. Time does not heal pain, it merely dulls it at best. Jesus is the only one who can heal you sweetie. Then again, you know that already. We'll see it through. In the mean time, I advise keeping your distance from that person. I personaly would love to jackslap the baka! Ah well... As ever, I am your friend and sister.

Skelitons are always found - especially if never well buried!

we all have skeletons in our closets... my wife and I? Well... we happen to have walk-in closets. The pain will pass... in time... in the meantime writing can be a great release... chin up!
