Making cloth doll bodies doesn't have to be hard. I have made a couple of different cloth doll bodies for my daughter when she was younger. She thought her dolls needed sisters.
Many of the cloth doll body patterns listed below are fairly easy to make. A sewing machine, scissors, pins, fabric, and a few other sewing notions is all you will need to make these dolls.
You don't have to be a master seamstress to make these cloth dolls. A beginning seamstress can make them. These cloth doll body patterns are a great way for a beginner to lean how to sew. They will be able to learn how to cut out a pattern, read a pattern, follow seam allowances, and many other simple skills seamstresses need to know.
The cloth doll body patterns can be used to make stuffed dog toys. If your dog goes through a lot of chew and play toys, the cloth dolls may be an option to try. I know dog toys can become expensive when a person has to replace them once or twice a month.
As a parent or home economics teacher, you could use these cloth doll body patterns as a way to teach kids how to sew. By making the cloth dolls, your kids will have the basics of sewing. This will help them know how to hem clothes and sew on buttons.
Not only can you use the cloth doll body patterns as mentioned above, you can make them as gifts for holidays or for kids in hospitals during a serious illness. They can be made and donated to your local fire and police departments for children who have lost their home to a fire or in cases of domestic abuse. Both departments are known to hand out such types of toys to kids in situations like these to help them with the issues they face in cases like these.

There are over 170 cloth doll patterns at the Cloth Doll Connection website. I checked quite a few of the links. I found one that didn't have any information on it, but the website wasn't a site that was no longer existing. Most of the free cloth doll patterns have printable patterns to use for cutting the doll pieces out.
All of the doll patterns on this site are free to print. There are a few patterns on the list that aren't dolls. There are tips for making parts for the dolls. You will find a few other things you can make for the dolls.
