Word on the street has it that a lease has just been locked down for a building in DUMBO for not one but two cloud computing companies. The companies are known as XT Staffing and OS 33.
Each company has signed a three-year lease at 45 Main Street, a building currently owned by Two Trees Management Company. Each space is more than 3,000 square feet. The new lease went into effect on October 1.
Locals can be excited as new technology moves into the neighborhood. Cloud computing is an Internet-based computing model that boasts shared resources, information, and software all provided to computers and other technology devices on demand. In a way, cloud computing works much like the electricity grid.
The data outsourcing companies have bases in NYC and Dallas, making the DUMBO location an additional base.
