There's a group of people I cannot stand,
In a little car they tightly band.
With made up faces to please the crowd,
It makes my fear cry out loud.
Though they're for the kids enjoyment,
I wish they'd find other employment.
The big red noses and floppy shoes,
Quickly give me the fearful blues.
Ever since I was a little girl,
These people made me cringe and curl.
Into a ball with fearful though,
I was sure that I was caught.
Now I'm grown and smarter I hope,
But my fear of clowns I cannot cope.
If I see one coming my way,
I get away quickly, without delay.
To the clowns its nothing against them,
It doesn't matter if its a her or him.
There's just something about them I fear,
That always brings out a dreadful tear.

Post a CommentGreat poem! I just published an article titled: A Fear of or Aversion to Clowns; It's No Laughing Matter.I hope you'll read it!
This is great! I hate clowns too! :)
LOL How cute! I love this!
This is cute. Reminds me of the song by Randy Stonehill: "Baby hates clowns and the tricks they do. Baby hates clowns in their great big shoes. Baby hates clowns with their polka dot clothes. Baby hates clowns with their big red nose. Now I get a little nervous every time that the circus comes to town. I don't know why baby hates clowns." http://www.delusionresistance.org/christian/stonehill/thirst/thirst06.html
Wow...I always thought that clowns were a bit creepy. But it is a comedic art that has been around for centuries...Of course when I read the novel "It" by Stephen King, that just made them even more creepy. Good job, Marsha.
