Who has not heard of Club Med? For those who haven't, Club Med revolutionized vacations by making all-inclusive travel famous the world over. Now Club Med has given its resorts a new look and the latest resort to debut its shining new look is Club Med Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

We all know that arriving at Punta Cana's airport can be a nightmare. It is just so hectic but Club Med guests just go to the Club med booth situated in the arrival area. Here they will check into their rooms (yes, even before arriving at the resort) and will be given their room keys, a map of the property and information sheet with such helpful details as where to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. They will also receive a schedule of the day's activities and opening times of the spa, fitness center and kids' club.

A vacation at the Club Med Punta Cana is never going to be boring. Just around the pool you will find yourself being invited to take part in water games such as volley ball and aerobic sessions. Club Med Punta Cana offers unlimited water sports such as kayaking and windsurfing.

The on land activities are just as exciting with tennis, golf, archery and night time Guitar hero tournaments.

But the above pale in comparison to the circus lessons that are offered. Yes, circus lessons. At Club med Punta Cana there is a permanent circus area with a trampoline, juggling pins and a flying trapeze ( not to worry though as there is a safety net ). The circus is available to both adults and youngsters for four hours every day.

Another unusual amenity in the form of an in-line skating track can be found at Club Med Punta Cana complete with obstacles like trick ramps where experienced skaters can show off their skills.

Here at Club Med there is plenty for the kids and Club med has expanded its Mini Club Med (for 4-10 year olds) to include Baby Club med. And of course there is Club med passworld for those aged between 11 and 17.

Club Med Punta Cana has the biggest kids club area in the Caribbean with gated grassy areas where younger children can play on small playsets like the happy Gym, as well as larger playgrounds for older children.

Probably the most spectacular element is the water playground which features slides, fountains, water guns and more.

The kids can play mini tennis and mini basketball and the teens can hang out and be cool at The lab@The Ramp. Here they can drink to their hearts content (no-alcohol though), skate at the roller park or just chill in the big hammock.

Described above are merely the facilities for the younger ones add to that the kids club organizers who babysit, lead the kids in songs, dances and games no child should ever be bored.

There is also the Pyjamas Club where the kids can be dropped off for a slumber party whilst the parents take off to have a little grown-up fun.

It is true that Club med can be a more energetic getaway there are places to escape to and relax. For instance you could slope off and have a massage at the Club med Spa which is set far away from the noisy bustling pool.

The spa has an infinity pool which looks out to sea with breezy beachfront huts.

Night time will bring on the party. An evening at Club med Punta Cana could start with drinks either at the El Cielo bar or the pool front wine and cocktail bar or at Celeste, the clubby lounge.

After drinks a short walk to dinner. You can choose to eat at the traditional Caribbean Buffet restaurant Hispaniola or the more upscale Samana restaurant.

Once dinner has been consumed the party continues with live entertainment all over the resort.

To enjoy the Club Med Punta Cana the rates start at $1,190 per adult for a 7-night stay. Children under 4 receive a 75% discount and children under 2 stay free. Youngsters under 15 receive a 50% discount.
