Club Penguin Elite Penguin Force - Nintendo DS Game Review

Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force is a great game. The missions are a lot of fun, the minigames are awesome, and the ability to upload coins to your online Club Penguin account is the real hook for this game. With the Upload Coins feature, you can earn coins on your Nintendo DS, then move them into your Online account. This makes it so you can earn coins for your online account even when you aren't at your computer. If you can get to Wi-Fi, you can upload your coins to your online account. Keep in mind, you can only upload 2,000 coins per day. If you are a super-gamer like I am, this isn't going to be enough for you to be satisfied with. It will get very annoying when you go on a long plane trip and you work on making coins for more than an hour. It will take you 5 days to upload 10,000 coins. If you really know how to play the game, you can earn 10,000 points in about an hour. 5 days is way too long to move only an hour's worth of coins.

Let's move on to graphics. The graphics of this game are really good (for the DS). They look just like they do when you play on the computer. In the game where you drive a coal cart down a mine chaft, the graphics are literally indentical. For the Nintendo DS, the graphics are phenominal. For any other console, they are terrible. In this case though, the graphics can only be judged compared to other games on the same console (which means that the graphics are good).

The gameplay is also really good in this game. You complete missions for the Elite Penguin Force, as well as play fun minigames. The missions are not really what I play. I am more of a minigame kind of guy. The minigames range from dancing to driving a coal cart in a mind shaft. They are a lot of fun, and each of them brings something different to the table. My favorite one is the snowboarding one. You jump off of ramps, and while you are in the air, you have to move you stylus across the touchscreen in the same pattern as is shown. This game is very rewarding, and my highest score has earned me more than two hundred points.

I would rate this game a 7 out of 10 for DS games. Though this game is great for the DS, it is not a good game in comparison to any other console. If you want a game with better graphics, try a PSP game. If not, this is the game for you!
