Memberships to the site are reasonably priced offering a monthly subscription for 5.95, a 6 month subscription for 29.95 or a year subscription for 57.95. Although some parents may feel this is a high fee to pay for a site for your child to use. You truly can not put a price on safety when it comes to the internet. Club Penguin is fully supported by the paid subscriptions to their site, there is no advertising or marketing of any type. Keeping a site free of advertising and marketing also keeps your children from seeing ads that are not targeted for their eyes.
While Club Penguin is open to children of any ages the site is more geared for children between the ages of 6 and 14. They offer games, education and interaction with other children. As the year progress Club Penguin will be offering even more new games, new features, new adventures, new missions and a lot more.
When children get online the two top things they do are play games and communicate with friends. Now they can do both of those things in a more secure environment when you sign your child up for Club Penguin. The Club Penguin website offers many tips and suggestions to parents on how to keep your child safe while online. They also offer a free account that is very limited for your sneak preview into Club Penguin. Not only do they offer tips and suggestions but they also offer two separate types of chat for your child. One where the chat is monitored by certain select text that is allowed to be used and another where your child has a bit more control over the chat they are having. They have filters in place that are updated constantly to filter out inappropriate conversations.
While Club Penguin will help give your child a more secure and safe setting to play games and interact with other children their age it should never be used as a substitute in thinking your child is still 100% safe online.

Post a CommentIf club Penguin is a safe website for children, why doesn't it work with the high level of web restriction enabled?
The high level web restriction is designed to block all web content except websites approved for children.
My girls love this site, but it's free for them ...? They have mentioned that there is a paid option, but much is available for no cost.
