Clyde Drexler Eliminated from Dancing with the Stars
NBA Hall of Famer Fourth Star to Leave the Popular Series
Drexler, who started the show strong with partner Elena Grinecko, failed to impress the audience and judges with last night's rumba, a passionate Latin dance meant to tell the story of love and eroticism between a man and a woman. The judges were especially tough on Drexler. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba quipped that Clyde had proven himself to be the worst dancer in the competition, a statement that many Dancing fans have found themselves agreeing with as of late.
The viewing public agreed with the judges comments and voted him out of the ballroom. Before his elimination, Clyde had become extremely critical of the judges saying that their comments and scores have not been consistant and even accusing their comments of being rehearsed.
The show, which is in its fourth season, has eliminated three stars so far. Model and author, Paulina Porizkova, former Miss USA Shandi Finnessey and tv host Leeza Gibbons. Tonight's elimination leaves the show with seven remaining couples.
Tuesday's show saw a bump in the road for contestant Heather Mills. At the end of their performance, balancing on one leg, she took a fall. The fall, however, seemed to only lose her one point as judge Len Goodman said that he saw nothing wrong with the performance.
Monday's show also showcased the first perfect score of the season. Apolo Anton Ohno and partner, Julianne Hough, performed a Samba that earned them a 10 from each of the series judges and a lingering standing ovation from the in-studio audience.
Next week, the couples will join together in the first group dance of the season, a swing dance ensemble.
This season's shows can be viewed in their entirety by logging onto ABC.com.

Post a Commenti'm surprised clyde didn't leave first, he should have left before paulina, shandi, and leeza i know he wasn't as bad as master p
I like this show, too. I think in the beginning Clyde was really into it. But he didn't feel like the judges liked him and that they weren't giving him enough real helpful criticism, I heard on a popular entertainment show that he asked viewers to not to vote for him. Sounds like he was ready to leave.
Competition Dancing is extremely hard and stressful. I'm impressed by all the stars that train and try their best. Thanks for keeping me up with the show.
I enjoy this show. Clyde was certainly an interesting addition....I think he got a lot of opportunities. As much as I appreciate him, it probably was time.
