Coaching High School Soccer: How to Achieve Self-Control

In coaching high school soccer it's a proven fact that self-control is a choice and players have to choose it just like they do for confidence. In soccer coaching, it's the relation between emotions and thoughts that concludes the self control strategies. We all know that our state of mind influences our emotions, which in turn strengthens our performance.

7. Goals: To improve the skills of the players, you must start with several small goals. Guide the players in understanding the correlation between way of thinking, thought process, and actions.

8. Techniques: To maintain the confidence level, employ a set of behavioral practices. For example: When a particular situation comes up, this is the path that the players must go by.

9. Plan: In football coaching, teach a planned and systematic way of chasing the goals to players.

10. Progress: Help them being patient. Help the players realize the value of ups and downs in the path to improvement.

11. Setbacks: Help the players in accepting the setbacks, as these will continue to happen. Therefore, try to learn something new from every setback.

12. Remembrance: Last but not the least, help the players understand that there is a reason behind their attempts to change. They should always be clear about what are they doing and why. What will their future be like, if they don't change.

We all now that a soccer player who can act speedily with comfort is in a perfect performance state. In other words, the stress-free efficient performance.
