Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Record Breaking 2011 Season

Besides the Chanticleers having a successful winning period in the 2011/2012, it appears this may be one of the Chants finer seasons.

The Chanticleers set a school record, as they bested their previous record of 12 games set in 2005-2006 and 2009-2010. The Chants 13th consecutive game winning streak speaks volumes in relation to their 2011/2012 season, and what may become one of their best seasons ever.

Sam McLaurin registered a double-double to help lead the Chanticleers past Winthrop , 74-69. McLaurin scored a career best 17 points, in addition to pulling down 10 rebounds, which surpassed his previous high of 13 points; he scored last season at VMl.

McLaurin's 3 for 4 free throw shooting help the Chants shoot 46.6 percent on the night.

Besides Chad Gray team high 19 points and the Chants two leading scorers Mike Holmes and Desmond Holloway, the Chants remained focused to win the game without their key starters.

The Chanticleers have the fifth longest current winning streak in the NCAA, in light of approaching their Saturday game against Presbyterian from Kimbel Arena.
