I wrote this in 2007, kinda weird, don't even remember exactly what it was about. I think I may have read a book or saw a movie or something about someone struggling with some kind of responsibility they didn't want, that would make a lot of sense, actually.
This coat of armor I wear
I take it off and I am bare
But I look back and it hangs there
The coat, that, no one with me shares
Hanging heavy, massive and stiff
I want to throw it off a cliff
And I'd shoot it in the back of the head
Dig it a hole and put it to bed
But, I put it back on, clasp the buttons to lock it
Turn the collar up, and stick my hands in the pocket
