The Cobra SL3 is capable of detecting a variety of hazardous environments for drivers. They include speed cameras, red light cameras, and speed traps. The unit will also alert you to known dangerous intersections. You can even add up to 1,000 locations yourself that you want to receive alerts for.
The Cobra SL3 red light camera locator also offers a three-zone system for alerts. This escalating system issues alerts based on how close you are to the alert location. This three-zone system produces these alerts based on how fast you're traveling.
Display
The Cobra SL3 is equipped with a bright display. There are five multi-color LED lights to indicate the type of hazard that is detected. You can also adjust the brightness of the display to your liking using the brightness and dim settings.
Tones
The Cobra SL3 red light camera locator will alert you to hazards using audio tones. There are four different audio tones to indicate what type of alert is detected. You can even adjust the volume of these alerts based on your preferences.
Database
The Cobra SL3 also makes use of the AURA database. This database keeps locations of red light cameras, speed traps, and other hazards. You can download updates to this database on a daily basis. You're provided with one year of free updates.
