Cocoa Tree Detangling Ghee

Qhemet Biologics Product Review

When I had found out that my favorite product line, Qhemet Biologics, was discontinuing their olive cream conditioner, I was rather disappointed. However, they started selling another product which I hesitated to try right away. According to Qhemet Biologics' site, the product was called Cocoa Tree Detangling Ghee, promised to "softens & detangles with pure Cocoa Butter and nourishing botanicals!"I recently bit the bullet and brought this particular product and didn't really have any high expectations.

On their website, Qhemet Biologics says the Cocoa Tree Detangling Ghee "restores manageability, softness and elasticity to normal to very dry hair. Smoothes cuticles, improves combing ability and reduces breakage". About the scent, it was described as being "natural dark chocolate scent".

I was still skeptical about trying out this product. My hair is really coily and kinky. Since I transition from relaxed, straighten hair to natural hair, I have always had trouble retaining moisture. On top of all that I found it rather hard to find a detangler that would actually make taking out all the tangles easier. I needed a product that would give my hair a lot of slip. Finally, the smell of products is rather important to me especially if I have to leave it in.

This product wasn't too expensive. The instructions said Cocoa Tree could be used on damp or dry tangled hair and to leave in. The first time I tried it my hair was dry. The Coca Tree Detangling Ghee did nothing for my natural hair except made it shiny. It didn't soften or detangle my hair. I decided to try it again, but this time on semi-wet hair. To my surprise, my hair was really easy to detangle and the Coca Tree was easily absorbed into my hair. The scent isn't overwhelming, it was a lovely, chocolaty smell. The Coca Tree Detangling Ghee has become a staple in my hair regime and I almost always use is as my only leave-in.

I would highly recommend it to anyone who is having trouble with tangles and/or moisture. I have been using this product for about one month and a half with out any trouble. The best thing about it all is this product really "green". It is 95% natural and 100% vegan. It doesn't contain harmful ingredients, such as contain mineral oil, lanolin, essential oils, proteins or silicones, which can dry and damage natural hair.
