Cococare's Cocoa Butter, the Yellow Stick, Review

Katri Marson
I was in a drugstore one day planning to get a few things. One of the items on my list was a cocoa butter stick. I normally get queen helene's brand but it was nowhere to be found at the store I was at. All they had was a yellow stick called Cococare. It was only a couple dollars and it was similar to my usual brand so I bought it.

The packaging was rather plain, but boldly yellow. All it said on the front was Cococare, 100% cocoa butter and the net weight of 1 ounce. There was no big fancy logo or cute character. It is plain and simple but that is what I like. Even more important is the ingredients are plain and simple.

Unlike most products that almost have to have a fold out paper to list the ingredients the Cococare cocoa butter stick has only one ingredient. That ingredient is cocoa butter. It sounds fairly obvious but the last cocoa butter stick product, from a brand famous for cocoa butter products, I purchased I thought it was just cocoa butter and it ended up having every ingredient under the sun.

I really love the Cococare cocoa butter stick because it is easy to use. On my really lazy days I use it on my face. It works great for those days when I am just too tired for a whole routine. I just smooth it over and it only takes a second. The cocoa butter is really firm but it melts to a nice smooth consistency once it touches your skin. It is a bit oily on the skin but I use it most at night before bed or on days when I stay home.

It works like a push up pop and you stick a finger in the bottom and push it and it comes up. It pushes up very easily. I usually just push it up and the cap pops right off. It is a tiny lazy short cut to not have to take the cap off and push up separately.

Even though it is travel size I don't recommend traveling with it, in some situations anyway. Cocoa butter melts at about 90 degrees and it can turn to a complete liquid and in a push-up form container liquid can be a mess. Thankfully it didn't leak for me but I don't plan to take it with me in my purse in the summertime.

If you love to use pure cocoa butter but hate how getting pure cocoa butter out of a jar is next to impossible to scrap out, you will love Cococare's Cocoa Butter Stick. It is so easy to use to rub on your skin and then just put away. I think you will like it as much as I do.

I too was drawn to the "one ingredient" in the cocoa care yellow tube! I use it at night as well and it does make your skin very youthful in appearence. It practically melts onto your skin once applied and I just rub it in and I also use it on my neck and chest area. I get told alot that I do not appear to be my age (mid 40's), so to me, that's at least one good reason to continue to use it NOT to mention....it is dirt cheap! Sure hope it stays that way and I definately suggest everyone try it. Oh...did I mention it is great on your hands and cuticles as well.

Sounds like you're into natural products, and being a lover of cocoa butter myself, I actually make my own...its much cheaper to buy a few of the "push-up pops" from some cosmetic suppliers or even found on ebay, and melt down cocoa butter and pour into your own containers. its a great way to save $$ if you like making your own products too:)
