Coconut Oil to Clear Acne

How to Properly Use Virgin Coconut Oil to Clear Stubborn Acne

Those who suffer with stubborn acne range from young teenagers, to adults. Both men and women can be victims of the horrible plague known as acne.

For those of you who have tried everything under the sun to no avail, here is something new. Something you probably have never considered using before.

Unrefined, virgin, coconut oil.

That's right. Coconut oil. There are many wonderful benefits of coconut oil being discovered, and clearing up acne is one of them. Unrefined virgin coconut oil is non-comedogenic, which means it will not clog your pores. In fact, some acne creams list coconut oil as on of their ingredients.

What it will do is clear your pores of dirt and grime, remove toxins, clear up your acne scars, and leave your skin soft and smooth. And let's not forget to mention, it smells wonderful.

Many people are nervous about rubbing oil on their face for the first time, I know I was. If you are scared of what may happen, start off by the virgin coconut oil (also known an VCO) on only a section of your face until you are comfortable with it.

To use...

Use a facial cleaner to remove makeup and traces of dirt on the surface, and rinse with warm water to open your pores. You want the coconut oil to be able to get into your pores and push out the dirt and toxins.

Coconut oil is a solid at room temperature, but your body heat will melt it quickly. Use your fingertips to gently massage the VCO on your face in circular motions. Let it sit on your face for about twenty minutes. Massage for 5 minutes, then let it sit for 5 minutes, and massage for 5 minutes again. Continue this for the entire twenty minutes.

While you rub the VCO on your face, you may feel small gritty things seeming to appear from nowhere. This is the dirt and grime that VCO is removing from your pores.

When the twenty minutes are up, rinse the VCO from your face thoroughly. This can be difficult, as oil is generally hard to remove. After rinsing, use a small amount of facial cleanser to remove any oil that water alone couldn't remove. Rinse thoroughly again, and pat your face dry.

If you do this daily, you will notice yourself breakout after a few days of use. This is normal, the VCO brings toxins to the surface. The breakout should only last about 3 days, and isn't as bad as most regular breakouts. Once it has cleared up, VCO will not cause you to break out again.

You will notice from day one of doing this that your face is smoother and looks healthier. Your skin will be so smooth you'll want to rub and touch it all the time, but resist that urge. A clean face is a happy face.

Good Advice! I discovered coconut oil in June of this year when I had a skin-fold yeast infection and now use it for everything, even cooking to keep the yeast out of our systems! I even use it on my dry hair which isn't so dry anymore! Thanks!
