Coconut & Warm Ginger Softsoap is a Feast for the Senses

With grandchildren around, we tend to use a lot of hand soap at our house. Little and big hands have to be washed often in order to avoid spreading those nasty little germs that can lead to illness.

While I personally love antibacterial hand soaps, my daughter thinks they actually promote bacteria resistance. Therefore, I have to keep regular hand soap available for her family to use. The real secret is: I like to use it too.

One of our favorite new hand soaps comes from Softsoap. It is called Coconut & Warm Ginger Hand Soap. It comes in a 7.5 fl oz clear plastic pump bottle with a beautiful chocolate brown top. A colorful label with a picture of a coconut half graces the front.

The Softsoap logo is prominently display in navy blue at the top of the bottle. The remainder of the lettering is brown to match the top. All in all it is an attractive presentation; one you'll be happy to display anywhere in your home.

The soap itself is clear. That means it can fit in with almost any color scheme of a bathroom or kitchen.

Coconut & Warm Ginger Softsoap smells absolutely amazing. There is a strong coconut overtone with a warm ginger undertone. That makes for a balanced scent that isn't too overpowering. As you use the soap, its aroma wafts through the air, exciting the senses of sight, smell and touch.

I love that the soap is thick and rich. The coconut and jojoba oil inside of it soothes the skin and ensures that it remains soft and supple. This is a soap you will love to use.

Coconut & Warm Ginger Softsoap is also dermatologist tested. That means it is safe for most types of skin, including the delicate skin of younger children.

Ingredients include coconut oil, fragrance, ginger root extract, hydrogenated jojoba oil and water. They also include benzophenone-4, citric acid, cocamidopropyl betaine, decyl glucoside, D&C violet -2, DMDM hydantoin, PEG-7 glyceryl cocoate, PEG-120 methyl glucose dioleate, polyquaternium-7, poloxamer 124, sodium chloride, sodium laureth sulfate, sodium sulfate and tetrasodium EDTA.

Here is my summary review:

Effectiveness: 5 stars. This soap cleanses easily and completely.

Variety: 5 stars. If coconut isn't your thing, Softsoap makes a variety of other scents to tempt you. These include, but aren't limited to aloe vera, black raspberry and vanilla, juicy melon, lavender and chamomile, milk protein and honey and pink grapefruit.

Ease of storage: 5 stars. The bottle measures 5.5" in height by just over 3.25" in width. It is a little under 1.5" in depth. The bottle is shaped in a modified oval. It is flat enough to make it easy to store in a medicine cabinet, underneath the sink, in a vanity or a dresser drawer. It will also sit on the back of most bathroom or kitchen sinks.

Availability: 4 stars. Softsoap products are available in most grocery markets and drug stores as well as many discount department stores. I have seen the Coconut & Warm Ginger Softsoap in most of these locations as well.

Price: 5 stars. I purchased this soap at Dollar Tree for just $1. You can't get much better than that.

Final rating: 4.9 stars. It is close to perfect.
