Coffee has so many Health Benefits - Drink Your Coffee!

I'm one of those people who simply can't function in the morning until I've had at least one cup of coffee. I don't want to talk or be talked too. My husband and kids know better! Because of this, it's absolutely essential that I am able to brew my own coffee at home. Yes, I can say, "I'm Addicted and I can't live without my coffee."

The saying in my family is: "If you don't drink coffee, then you didn't come from us!" About everyone in my family are coffee drinkers. We've got the regular coffee drinkers and the exotic coffee drinkers. I'm regular coffee in the morning then exotic coffee in the afternoon and/or evening. You have to watch the exotic coffee; it can get expensive. I sure do wish it were cheaper!

I started drinking coffee when I was 18 years old and haven't quit. I've probably gone through 20 coffee pots so far. It seem like I burn up the heating elements. I'm so bad that one time the coffee maker didn't brew the morning's coffee so I made my husband go to the store right away, buy a new coffee maker and have a cup of hot coffee in his hand before he could come in the house.

Where did coffee come from? Just a little coffee history - Coffee originated in Ethiopia, as a natural plant. It was discovered by accident. Some people were sent away to hide but had no food. They found this plant and ate the bean of it. Not only did it sustain them but also it gave them great energy. They survived on these beans for weeks.

Coffee has gotten some bad raps in the past with its caffeine in it but did you know there are many health benefits to coffee. Coffee has antioxidants in it. These health-boosting antioxidants are actually good for you as long as you drink your coffee in moderation.

Many people avoid coffee because of the effects it has on the body and the amount of caffeine it contains. However, caffeine is not the only ingredient that is beneficial. The antioxidants in coffee have been proven to boost your immune system and help to ward off illnesses. Yes, coffee is right up there with fruit, tea and yes chocolate on its antioxidant content.

Did you know it could decrease the likelihood of developing heart disease, liver cancer and slow aging? How, you ask? The antioxidants help the body fight and absorb the culprits that cause cell damage, which results in sagging skin, wrinkles and ultimately aging.

Coffee has also been reported to lower risks in type 2-diabetes. Women also who drink coffee once to three times a day are less likely to die from heart disease and non-cancerous inflammatory diseases than non-coffee drinkers.

The caffeine, which people try to avoid, is also a benefit. It gives you the necessary alertness you need when you feel tired or drowsy. The caffeine is known to be a central nervous system stimulant. Stimulants can boost the mental alertness, which makes it very handy when you are beating a deadline and you feel sleepy and drowsy. This also makes sense to have coffee breaks when you can't work and are tempted to fall asleep at your desk.

Although there are many benefits to drinking coffee too much coffee can cause insomnia, and ulcers. Doctors recommend you drink one to three cups of coffee a day. You will still reap the benefits of coffee without causing adverse side effects.

Coffee drinkers can now justify why coffee drinking is the best. Coffee slows down the aging; boost mental awareness; and have been found to have many health benefits. No wonder coffee has increased greatly in recent years. People are drinking coffee more and more due to the availability and the benefits.

If you have shied away from coffee because of the caffeine or are not a big coffee drinker, you might want to consider going back to drinking coffee. With all the health benefits who would want to stop. There are so many flavors and recipes for coffee drinks on the marker now, I'm sure you will find several you can't live without!

What else can I say? Besides the addicting taste and aroma, coffee is just the best. I love my coffee and I can't live with out it!
