Mildred's opened in 1994 and is one of the few remaining family owned coffee shops still in operation in Kansas City today. Mildred's at Crossroads is one of three locations in Kansas City and is located in the Crossroads art district at 19^th and Wyandotte. Once a month, Mildred's participates in the "First Friday's" art exhibition. The first Friday evening of each month, the art galleries, studios and restaurants in the Crossroads art district open their doors to showcase both local and national artists.
