Lititz, Pennsylvania is a beautiful historic quaint town in the northern section of Lancaster County. It is often the destination of tourist but it is a far cry from the typical tourist type atmosphere as there is a reasonable balance in the town between shops and professional offices. The town offers a feast for the eyes and the palates at the local coffee shops. Let me take you on a tour to three of my favorite coffee shops located on Main Street in Lititz:

Spill the Beans Cafe @ 43 E Main St., Lititz, Pa 17543
Website: www.spillthebeanscafe.com
Phone: 717-627-7827
Hours: open 7 days a week, (M - F) 5:30 am -2:30 pm, (Sa) 6:30 am - 3 pm, (S) 8 am - 2 pm

In many ways, Spill the Beans is the heart of downtown Lititz. Busy shop and business owners can often be seen grabbing a leisurely "cup of Joe" prior to the start of their work day. Others flit in and out with travel mugs in hand throughout the day; they can be seen hurrying back to their establishments with their precious coffee. If the locals know where to get their coffee, you know this is a best bet.

Not only does the shop offer coffee but it offers selections of yummy baked treats, bagels, omelets served with sausage or bacon and a variety of other items for breakfast. For lunch, recommendations are for their authentic Italian Panini and soup. They have other items on their lunch menu as well.

Creations Cafe and Tea Room @ 27 E Main St., Lititz, Pa 17543
Website: www.creationscafentearoom.com
Phone: 717-625-1960
Hours: open (M - S) at 9 am, closing at 4 pm (M -W) other days open until 8 pm. They are closed on Sundays.

The aromas of the coffee in this shop whet your appetite for the tastes to come. This charming cafe offers a variety selection from their signature to their exotic teas. Trust me; their frozen coffee is to die for. Daily they change their offerings of yummo baked goods. Breakfast is served until 11 am. At that time, they offer a variety of soups, salads, smoothies and sandwiches. They have unique build your own potatoes and pizzas with assorted toppings. With their sit awhile atmosphere, you will want to dawdle over your meal as you enjoy the sights and sounds of Lititz.

Café Chocolate @ 40 E Main St., Lititz Pa, 17543
Website: www.chocolatelititz.com
Hours: open (S - Th) 11am-5pm, (F -Sa) 9am - 9pm
Phone: 717-626-0123

The cafe is my personal favorite. It is more than just a cafe it is an experience. Selina, the owner has admitted to me, that the movie Chocolat is a favorite of hers. You can see how the movie has inspired her and her cafe. Perhaps it has something to do with the fresh chocolate covered strawberries that you can have with your coffee. Or maybe it has to do with artful atmosphere, ethnic music, or the decorative charm of this unique establishment. Or it could be this places' mission statement "For the life of the people who grow it, the life of the rainforest that sustains it, for the life of us who eat the real thing!" This place has a flare for the exotic specializes in organically grown fair traded products. From their coffee to their Iced Turbo, made with their signature dark chocolate and espresso, you will not be disappointed. Any of their offerings on the menu are fabulous. There isn't a bad pick on the menu; chocolate is sprinkled or in most offerings from chili to salad dressing. Do try the mint chocolate ice tea, please.

Where ever you choose to get your coffee in Lititz you can't go wrong. There are other places to try that aren't on Main Street. Come and explore for yourself the sights and tastes of Lititz, PA.
