Where do you think of going when you want a cup of coffee or just need a place to hang so you can catch up on news with friends? Well if you are like most you probably think Starbucks, Caribou Coffee or Krispy Kreme. Ok well maybe not Krispy Kreme, but I bet you don't usually think of the local entrepreneur that has set up a coffee shop around town in a cheap but of the way shop. That's because you figure it's going to be more expensive then say Starbucks.

You will probably be pleasantly surprised that a lot of shops are hands on and serve a great cup of joe at a reasonable price. You will probably find some interesting people like writers, geeks and students to converse with and causes that are just.

In Roswell, Georgia you will find all that and more. Starbucks has three locations here all at major intersections with drive through bliss. They have ample parking and are open early as well as late 7 days a week. They are very consistent in their pricing and for a small fee enjoy their wifi as well.

Then you could go to The Land of Thousand Hills Coffee Shop. They are located not at an intersection but a busy three lane highway. They have very little parking except for a Baptist Church that allows them to use their parking all the time except for 4-8 Wednesday evenings and all day Sunday. But they also roast their beans on the premises and those are Rwandan coffee beans, hence the name. Very good coffee and a price about 10% less then Starbucks and they have free wifi. Also they funded a project in Rwandan to replace the homemade wooden bikes with modern rugged metal bikes, which enable the Rwandans to get their coffee three days sooner to market and ultimately to you.

On down the road is the Clay Café which is extremely hard to get to because it is in the old downtown section were parking is a premium. As a matter of fact I could not park near there in the afternoon of a normal business day. Cute place and probably the most attractive shop in Roswell but location, location, location. I don't expect them to survive long in this recession and the bad location.

That's all the coffee shops in Roswell a town of 100,000 folks but it is probably all the competition that the town can support.
