Cold Mornings, Warm Hearts: A Haiku Quartet

Warm to Cold '" an Abrupt Shift. Cold to Warm '" a Welcome One!

David A. Reinstein, LCSW
The deep chill trumpets
The unstoppable onset
Of winter sunrise.

Under the covers,
Denying the rude alarm
The embrace is grand.

Defrosters cling
Enhanced by a nice snuggle;
We prepare to rise.

Cold feet and warm hearts.
Chilled rising from loving warmth,
A new winter day.

    When I'd visit my grandmother, I'd sink into a feather bed covered by quilts...warm as toast. You've had some chilly weather out there. I need a warmer climate within the next couple years.

    I can relate to this lovely poetry. If you think it's hard to rise from a nice warm bed on a winter's morn, try sleeping under an electric blanket. You'll want to sleep all morning. LOL

    I use the alarm on my phone. I get to pick the song that awakens me :)
