Cold Stone Creamery: Refreshing Treat

Cold Stone Creamery is the name of an ice cream shop we visited for the first time this weekend. Before I tell about our experience, here's a little background about Cold Stone Creamery.

With more than 1,300 Cold Stone Creamery stores all over the world, this ice cream shop offers a delicious and unique sweet experience. First of all, the ice cream is made fresh in the Cold Stone Creamery store every day. When the customer orders, that fresh, rich ice cream flavor of choice is spread on Cold Stone Creamery's signature freezing cold granite stone, then whatever kinds of extras craved are added to the ice cream. Nuts, candies, fruits, cookies and the like are some of the offerings available to the ice cream customer. The creation is then mixed together and the delicious dish served up. The Creamery has a menu list of already concocted 'Creations' available to give the customer some good ideas to try or a unique creation of one's own might be the choice of the day.

All of that being said, our personal experience is always the one we're going to rely on when patronizing any business. We had heard from friends that Cold Stone Creamery was a wonderful treat, so while out this weekend, my family decided to give it a try. The Cold Stone Creamery store we visited was in Evansville, Indiana. The store was clean, well-lit and the décor trendy and not overpowering. There were several great-sounding ice cream flavor choices to be had, some classic ones and some more unique flavors as well. Our daughter tried a Cotton Candy flavor with candy mixed in. A true kid creation. She loved it, but most of all she liked watching the Cold Stone Creamery associate spread her ice cream on that cold granite and mix in her choice candies. My husband and I shared a Butter Pecan in which we simply had more pecans mixed in. I have to agree with our daughter in that it was really fun to watch the Cold Stone Creamery associate slap our ice cream on the cold granite stone and mix in our pecans before serving up the sweet dish to us. That Butter Pecan was delicious! The ice cream was clearly fresh, the flavor had none of that frozen ice in a box residue that can sometimes come from commercial ice cream. Creamy and unbelievably fresh, Cold Stone Creamery may well be our new favorite ice cream place.

Nothing much better than delicious ice cream in July!
