Chris Martin said that he felt his words were being 'journalistically twisted' and later stated that he was not enjoying this (the interview). He said that he did not really like to talk about things. He then walked off, leaving band member Will Champion to field the remaining questions. He returned towards the end of the interview to answer one last question.
We can empathize with celebrities who feel like the whole world is invading their privacy. Paparazzi are everywhere they go; magazines have details of their courtships splashed all over their pages. Celebrities can't even surprise their loved ones with gifts anymore because their shopping spree was in the pages of some tabloid with details of everything they bought! Yes, we can definitely empathize with them.
What I do not understand though, is some of the reactions we get from these celebrities. Chris Martin, for example, stormed out of an interview that he was doing to promote his band's new album. He agreed attend the interview and then gets angry when asked about his music...the music that he's promoting so that we can all listen to it. What's that about?
The invasion of privacy comes with the territory. It's time that these celebrities accepted that and adapted to the situation. They can choose to stay at home and not do the interviews at the expense of the album/movie, or bite the bullet and face the questions that everybody is asking. They can choose to keep their children out of the public eye (as much as possible anyway) or sell the baby photos for millions of dollars. I'm sure that's fair compensation.
The bottom line is they have a choice. If they can't stand the heat, then they shouldn't get into the kitchen. I am in no way condoning the whole tabloid/paparazzi industry. What I am saying here is that the whining and complaining these superstars are doing is ridiculous. They chose the lifestyle; they should deal with the consequences that go along with it.

Post a CommentLet's not jump on the band just yet. Pressure effects everyone, no matter the job. Just because he got mad about something doesn't mean that we have to be angered by that. I am a big fan of Coldplay, but that's not the only reason I'm saying this. If you agreed to have a talk with someone, but was suddenly set off by some comment they made...don't you think you would do the same? Either way, we shouldn't just jump onto someone because of what easily sets them off. I myself do not like manipulative people, so I think I may have done the same thing as Chris, but then again I don't exactly have the amazing ability to not be so easily set off. I really do not mean to be rude, but that is my opinion.
