Colgate Oxygen Whitening Cool Mint Toothpaste Works like a Charm

A Product Review

Charlotte Kuchinsky
I have very sensitive teeth and gums. That means there are some types of toothpaste I cannot use. That is especially true with certain types of whitening toothpaste. It is due to the harshness of the ingredients that are sometimes included.

That isn't; however, the case with Colgate Oxygen Whitening Cool Mint Toothpaste. This is one that I can use and I find it very refreshing. I love that is provides a fluoride treatment while you brush.

This toothpaste comes in a 4.6 oz gel form at the local Dollar Tree where it retails for $1. I consider that a real bargain.

I particularly appreciate the bottle delivery system. There are no messy tubes that you have to squeeze a certain way in order to dispense the product. The toothpaste's small, modified oval shape bottle fits right on the back of the sink with ease. It also fits well into the palm of your hand for dispensing.

The flip top cap makes the toothpaste easy to dispense. Then you can just close the lid; leaving behind no mess and no fuss.

The mint gel taste of this toothpaste is refreshing and makes teeth feel clean. It leaves a nice tingle behind that shows the mouthwash inside of it is doing its job correctly.

Best of all, the toothpaste actually does whiten the teeth. In fact, it does what it promises across the board. That is the Colgate promise and this toothpaste delivers in spades.

The active ingredient in Colgate Oxygen Whitening Cool Mint Toothpaste is monofluorophosophate. Its purpose is to aid in the prevention of cavities. Other ingredients include calcium peroxide, cellulose gum, flavoring, glycerin, hydrated silica, sodium bicarbonate, sodium hydroxide, sodium saccharin and water. It also includes carrageenan, FD &C No. 1, polyethylene, propylene glycol, sorbitol, sodium lauryl sulfate and titanium dioxide.

Colgate Oxygen Whitening Cool Mint Toothpaste is not recommended for use by children under the age of six. If they should use it; however, make certain they use no more than a pea size drop. Supervise them while they brush their teeth and encourage them not to swallow any of the toothpaste.

Adults may use this toothpaste up to four times a day, preferably upon completion of each meal and at bedtime. Use no more than a dime size amount. Minimize swallowing of the product for your protection.

Keep the toothpaste completely out of the reach of children under two years of age. If they should get hold of it and swallow anything over a pea size amount, contact a poison control center right away or call your family physician.

Here is my summary review:

Effectiveness: 5 Stars. This product does what it claims.

Taste: 5 stars. Colgate Oxygen Whitening Cool Mint Toothpaste tastes refreshing and makes your teeth feel clean.

Packaging: 5 stars. The toothpaste comes in a freestanding clear plastic bottle with a white top and a red, white and blue shrink label cover. The bright colors and a picture of splashed water automatically draw the eye to the product on the store shelf. The Colgate logo is prominently displayed in the center of the bottle in red. Lettering is done in dark blue and red.

Ease of storage: 5 stars. The bottle stands 4.5" in height by 2.25" in width at the widest point and .5" in depth. It is small enough to fit on the back of a sink, in the medicine cabinet or inside a vanity. It will also easily fit into a carry on or overnight bag or handbag tote. The snap top ensures the product will not leak.

Availability: 5 stars. Colgate Oxygen Whitening Cool Mint Toothpaste is a product of the Colgate-Palmolive Company of New York, New York. This product should be available wherever Colgate products are sold nationwide. That includes grocery stores, drug stores and discount department stores with a drug section.

Price: 5 stars. I purchased my bottle at The Dollar Tree for $1. It may be higher in other locations but should always weigh in at under $3.

Final rating: 5 stars. Perfection personified!

Thank you so much! I have sensitive teeth too, and it's wonderful to know there is a toothpaste that accommodates that and whitens. The toothpaste I currently use is okay, but it doesn't remove stains.
