Colgate Sparkling White CarribbeanCool Fluoride Toothpaste - Product Review
White Teeth with a Surge of Mint!
I knew we were out of toothpaste on Friday but forgot to stop at the store and pick some up on the way home from work. I had to work my other job both Saturday and Sunday and thought I might stop either before or after work on one of those days. Didn't happen! I was short on time before going and just too tired to stop when leaving. I figured I could squeeze the dregs of the toothpaste from the tube and have enough to get me through to the next day.
When it came time to brush my teeth I tried everything I could to get the remainder of toothpaste from the tube, short of cutting it open and turning it inside out! Finally, I gave up and went for the baking soda.
Fortunately I remembered when I was at work that I needed to get more toothpaste. Not relying on having to stop on the way home I decided to buy some toothpaste from the company store. Knowing it would be more expensive than the grocery store, I counted my change and headed on over. As expected, most available toothpastes were closer to $4 in price unless it was one of those little 1.5oz travel tubes, and that just was not worth it for that high price tag!
Finally, I spotted a tube of Colgate Fluoride Toothpaste in a 'Sparkling White CarribbeanCool Gel' flavor. The 6.4oz tube offered Stain Protection Formula along with its fluoride protection! I was not too keen on the idea of fruity tasting toothpaste, especially when it promised 'a Surge of Tropical Mint' along with White Teeth!
What on earth is 'Tropical Mint?' It's like they couldn't decide whether to leave it fruit flavored to appeal to kids or mint flavored to appeal to adults!
Never the less, for $2.66 I purchased and took the 'New Exciting Flavor!' of toothpaste home with me.
After dinner I put the toothpaste to the test. Mind you, while I don't have a particular toothpaste that I absolutely cannot live without, and I only insist it have fluoride in it (I sometimes mix it with baking soda anyhow), but I have grown rather fond of Crest Pro Health Night formula toothpaste. I knew I could not fairly compare this Colgate Sparkling White CarribbeanCool Fluoride Toothpaste to Crest Pro Health Night formula toothpaste so I tried my best to be objective.
I knew the box said 'gel', but somehow I was still anticipating a white paste to come out when I squeezed the tube. That 'white paste' somehow gave me more confidence that the paste was serious about cleaning my teeth.
While brushing my teeth I realized my mouth wasn't ridiculously foamy the way some toothpaste makes it when brushing, and fortunately I found the taste of the toothpaste only slightly fruity and only slightly mint-y so that neither flavor was overpowering and thus a turnoff. Unfortunately, I did not have that fresh, just brushed, taste in my mouth when I finished brushing.
I did notice, as I ran my tongue over my teeth, that they felt really good! My mouth and breath felt clean and scrubbed, my teeth smooth and sharp! It actually felt pretty good!
I took another look at the box of Colgate Sparkling White CarribbeanCool Fluoride Toothpaste. It said it was 'clinically proven, stain protection formula for sparkling, healthy white teeth accompanied by a unique flavor experience.' It 'whitens teeth, removes stains, helps prevent stain build-up, fights cavities, and invigorates mouth.'
Colgate Sparkling White uses micro-cleaning crystals to remove stains and prevent build up of new ones, helping your teeth to stay whiter!
Okay, so this toothpaste is pretty good and the price was reasonable as well! I don't think it will become a regular for me but it definitely works well in a crunch!

Seems to be a pretty good product.
I've always wondered about the toothpastes with strange flavorings added; good to know they aren't too strong!
sounds really good thanks!
Good review. I can't use gel, only paste....sensitive teeth.
Good thing it was slightly fruity instead of overpowering.
:o) Sounds like it's worth a try.
