Colin Farrell was born in Dublin, Ireland and the Irish actor had a very rough beginning in the movie business. The first four movies he starred in all flopped at the box office worldwide including the big budget Hart's War with Bruce Willis. But Farrell found his stride in 2002-2003 when he starred in a number of big box office hits.

Colin Farrell starred alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Michelle Rodriguez and LL Cool J in the $80 million budget action thriller S.W.A.T.

3. Daredevil (2003) - $179 million

Daredevil is based upon the Marvel Comic superhero of the same name and starred Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner with Colin Farrell. Daredevil had a budget of $78 million.

4. Alexander (2004) - $167 million

Colin Farrell starred as Alexander in the movie of the same name. Directed by Oliver Stone Alexander flopped in the United States but with the help of heavy overseas promotion from co-star Angelina Jolie the movie made back a little more than its budget of $155 million at the box office worldwide.

5. Miami Vice (2006) - $164 million

Miami Vice had a big budget of $135 million and was directed by Michael Mann. Co-starring with Colin Farrell is Jamie Foxx. The movie really needed a big time female role.

6. The Recruit (2003) - $101 million
