If you are a collector of Barbie dolls I know you have heard of the #1 ponytail Barbie. The #1 Ponytail vintage Barbie doll is one of the most sought after Barbie dolls. This was the very first Barbie doll made in 1959, and she was only produced for a few months, which makes her vary rare and hard to find.

So if you have a vintage Barbie doll how can you tell if it is the #1 Ponytail? There are several things you need to look for. The #1 Ponytail vintage Barbie, is either blonde or brunette. She is wearing a black and white zebra swimsuit. Her eyes should have no color, just be black and white. Her eyebrows are very sharp and pointed. On her butt it should be marked Barbie TM" and the second line read "Pats. Pend". Each of her feet should also have a hole in them with copper tubing. If your Ponytail Barbie fits all of these factors you probably have a #1 Ponytail vintage Barbie doll.

All vintage ponytail Barbie's are highly sought after by collectors. The #1 ponytail vintage Barbie doll holds a very special place in the heart of many collectors. She was the first Barbie doll so this all by its self makes her very special. Since she was only produced for a couple months she is also vary rare. This vintage Barbie can be very expensive, if you can even find her. The original #1 ponytail vintage Barbie doll sells for varying prices depending on her condition and the condition of the box. I have seen a couple of these selling on Ebay for $7,000.

If you are looking for a vintage #1 ponytail Barbie doll, it can be hard to find. One of the best places to find vintage Barbie dolls in on Ebay. Ebay has a good selection of many different vintage Barbie dolls. Once in a while you can even find a #1 ponytail Barbie. When buying on Ebay you need to be careful to only buy from users with good feedback. Also when looking to buy a #1 ponytail Barbie you need to be careful because there have been a lot of reproductions made.

Barbie collecting can be a lot of fun. It is fun to look for vintage Barbie's at swap meets and yard sells, hoping to find that hidden treasure. Have fun collecting.

I have the original Barbie with the black ponytail. Even have her stand. She is in mint condition. I have all her outfits. I have held on to her for over 50yrs. I was hoping to pass her to my niece or grandaughter if appreciated. At this time in my life, I don't see that as a possibilty. Would be willing to sell for the proper amount. Let me know if there is an interest. Also have the Barbie with the white bubble cut. Prime condition. Hate to part with them......but don't feel they would mean much to my family. If you are interested please contract me via email....OMarsha50@bellsouth.net. Phone.......407 3287944.
