College Fooball Games to Highlight for in the 2010 Season

Tyler Bilbo
Every year in college football there are certain games that could make or break a team's entire season. Whether it is a game that decides who goes to the national championship game or who receives the coveted rivalry trophy. Some games can even decide a coach's job fate. These are a few of the games that I will be highlighting for the 2010 football season, and I think you should highlight them as well.

Nov. 27 Michigan vs. Ohio State

When this game roles around in late December next season each team will be looking for blood. This is one of, if not the, biggest rivalries in all of college football. Michigan has not won the rivalry game since 2003 and hopes they can change that, but Ohio State appears to be a stronger team again in the 2010 season. Also, this game's outcome could lead to a coaching change. Rich Rodriguez inherited this Michigan team in 2008 and has done nothing to make the Michigan fans proud. Rodriguez's departure looks imitate, but we will have to wait and see for ourselves.

Sept. 6 Boise State vs. Virginia Tech

This is an opening weekend match up that could hold the fate of one team in the balance. The past two seasons Boise State has gone undefeated, but missed the national title game each year. This year might be different, but to find that out they have to beat an excellent Virginia Tech coached by excellent Frank Beamer. If Boise State can beat Virginia Tech in week one then they will almost certainly run the table and be undefeated again this year.

Oct. 2 Alabama vs. Florida

One of the biggest games of the year will have to be this game. Alabama was the national champion last year and has a good chance of repeating. Florida, while missing Tim Tebow, still has a great chance at success this year with John Brantley as their quarterback. I am saying this will be a big game to watch because the winner could, in my opinion, go undefeated. Both teams have a lot of tough oppositions this season, but this game could mean the national title game for the winner.

Sept. 9 TCU vs. Oregon State

Last season TCU put up a great fight for the national championship game, but ended up in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl with Boise State due to a lackluster strength of schedule. TCU is trying to correct that this year with an opening day game against Oregon State. A loss could greatly damage the horned frog's national championship hopes, but a win could mean an undefeated season and possibly the national championship game.
