College Football Predictions- Week 8 NCAA Football Predictions

Michael Grisso
Yep, it's time to try our hand at the college football predictions. While we won't go into in depth stats or anything of that nature, we will provide the winners straight up as well as against the spread. There's still a lot of NCAA football predictions left in the year so we have plenty of time to see how well we can do heading into the bowl season. So let's get started and see how well we can take on the college ranks.

Florida State at N.C. State

The Seminoles are 11 1/2 point favorites in this one playing a Wolfpack team that always causes them problems. While we aren't sure that N.C. State can win the game outright, we'll take the points and see what happens. An interesting way to start off our 2nd half NCAA football predictions right?

FSU 31 N.C. State 24

BYU at TCU

The Cougars have the opportunity to run the table and nab a BCS bowl game, but the Horned Frogs will be standing in their way. BYU has taken care of business and we look for them to help start our college football predictions off with a 2-0 record and covering the 1 point spread.

BYU 28 TCU 20

Hawaii at Boise State

These are the types of games that make these NCAA football predictions fun. We no nothing about either team except that Hawaii's defense isn't too shabby. Oh and the fact that Colt Brennan and June Jones is no longer there. Then the Broncos are ranked their normal #15 and scorching just about everyone they play. The line here is 25 1/2, but Friday night games are ridiculously weird. Ask Brown, Yale, Columbia, and all those yahoos who love to play on Fridays.

Boise State 45 Hawaii 28

UCONN at Rutgers

It's a nice down year the Big East is having, but the Huskies seem to silence the critics each week except for that debacle at UNC. Havin' the extra week off to prepare for this game makes us think this is one of the easier college football predictions this week giving up only 1.

UCONN 34 Rutgers 17

Wake Forest at Maryland

The defense for the Demon Deacons has really stepped it up the last 3 weeks. So only giving up 1 to a Maryland team that is coming off a 31-0 loss to Virginia and we'll take Wake Forest and add them to our list of NCAA football predictions.

Wake Forest 20 Maryland 17

Georgia Tech at Clemson

With Bowden out it will be interesting to see how the team responds to Dabo Swinney and new starter Willy Korn. We're going to have to take the Yellow Jackets with all the dismay going on down south and lay the 2 points for our college football predictions.

Georgia Tech 24 Clemson 15

Memphis at East Carolina

This will definitely be an interesting game considering that the Tigers should have beat Louisville if it wasn't for defensive touchdowns. If they keep the turnovers down they'll beat the Pirates of East Carolina. So our NCAA football predictions will consist of taking Memphis plus the 9, but ECU pulling out a squeaker.

ECU 28 Memphis 24

Miami (FL) at Duke

Oh where, oh where have the hurricanes gone, oh where, oh where can they be? No, we aren't talking about Ike, Gustav, Hannah, and the other 50 real hurricanes, we're talking about the up and down football team. The Dukies are a whole different team this year and we actually like the upset here considering their road games against Vandy and Wake Forest. Our college football predictions here has us taking Duke and the points.

Duke 23 Miami 21

Virginia Tech at Boston College

A matchup of last year's ACC Championship, the Eagles will be looking for a little redemption. The Hokies have are 2-1 on the road this year keeping games close. B.C. really hasn't had any stiff competition. However, will take the Eagles with our NCAA football predictions and lay the 2 1/2.

Boston College 23 Virginia Tech 20

Syracuse at South Florida

We watched the 'Cuse once this year and wow are they pitiful. South Florida should run right through the Orangemen and while we don't like taking large spreads (-24) with our college football predictions, we're going to here.

South Florida 40 Syracuse 10

Wisconsin at Iowa

Well, three losses in a row, they can't have 4 right? Who knows but this pick is banking on that not happening and stealing the 3 1/2 points there getting with this week's NCAA football predictions.

Wisconsin 17 Iowa 6

Purdue at Northwestern

Well, we would call Northern Colorado and Central Michigan quality wins. However they did play well defensively against both Penn State and Ohio State. Can they upset the Wildcats who are riding a 5-1 record? We think it's possible and going to happen since the Boilermakers have played a tougher schedule. They'll be ready and so will we with our college football predictions.

Purdue 31 Northwestern 30

Kansas at Oklahoma

If the Sooners are going to get back in the National Championship game, they're going to have to start by rolling the Jayhawks. Not sure if 19 1/2 points is worth laying, but vegas is banking on the fact that most people's NCAA football predictions will sway the maroon way. We'll take the points.

Oklahoma 34 Kansas 21

Miami (OH) at Bowling Green

Okay, both these teams aren't that good and we're still trying to figure out why BGU is favored by 9 1/2. So we'll take the Redhawks (still should be Redskins). Not that has anything to do with college football predictions, but we wanted to throw it out there anyways.

Bowling Green 21 Miami 17

Western Michigan at Central Michigan

Uh oh, the big MAC rivalry and the Chippewas are favored by 2 1/2. We'll just take the Broncos since they're getting a couple points. Not how you should really give out NCAA football predictions, but whatever it's all in good fun.

Western Michigan 28 Central Michigan 27

Nebraska at Iowa State

Heck, we didn't even know the Cyclones still had a football team. That must be because no one talks about a team that loses to UNLV and Baylor. Then again the Cornhuskers haven't faired much better. Iowa State took the #16 ranked Jayhawks to the wire at home so we'll take the points here since they were 2 points away from being 3-0 there. 6 1/2 points is a lot in this game making us feel good about it. College football predictions never looked so good.

Iowa State 27 Nebraska 24

Alright, timeout here. We've still got 36 games to go, it's a quarter after 2 in the morning, and we've got to move things along here. So we apologize that our NCAA football predictions, college football predictions, or whatever you want to call them aren't full of commentary, but enough is enough for this week. So we'll throw up the rest of our picks below

Tennessee 34 Missippi State 21 (Tenn -8)

Alright, let's see how these college football predictions work out. Next week though our NCAA football predictions will probably dwindle down to just the Top 25. Why? This took for freakin' ever! Can you imagine if it all had commentary? You'd be reading for two more hours. Your welcome.

so you picking my nittany lions to beat osu or what

  • Michael Grisso10/18/2008

lol, you know when the score was 62-0 I was routing for Washington to score that 7 for year. I believe it was the first shutout like that for them since 1931 or something. The cougars are definitely bad.

  • sports mama10/18/2008

Looks like they're not gonna let WSU get that 7! Unfortunately for the Ducks, the Beavers are for real. Washington is in REAL disarray. I'm not even going to go to the OSU/Ore. game. Glad we had Washington for the opener. Frankly, as much as I love my Duckies, we'll be lucky if we win another game. I don't know what they're saving QB Thomas for....we already blew his redhirt. (Sigh) Off to the grandson's Pop Warner game...more important than the Beavs ttys

    BYU got smoked!

  • Michael Grisso10/14/2008

lol, sports mama. I'm thinkin' you're a little bias to your conference. 46-10. 62-7, same difference, either way it's a blowout. The other game we'll just have to wait and see because I'm not sold on the Beavs just cuz they beat USC at home which they're used to doing.

  • sports mama10/14/2008

Fun stuff. But a little naive on the Pac 10. USC 62- WSU 7; OSU 48- Wash. 14 :) Glad my Ducks have a bye!

    love the new venture Michael
