ESPN begins their day of coverage in Gainesville, as Florida begins the post Tim Tebow era against Miami of Ohio at noon. On ESPN 2, Michigan State begins against Western Michigan, while the post Bobby Bowden era begins for Florida State against Samford on ESPN U.
The 3:30 section of today's college football TV schedule 2010 is highlighted by Michigan, Notre Dame and Texas. ABC's first game of the year has Michigan open the renovated Big House against Big East contender Connecticut, while NBC's latest slate of Notre Dame games begins with Brian Kelly's Irish hosting Purdue. On ESPN, Texas starts life without Colt McCoy at Rice, while ABC has area coverage of Kentucky vs Louisville, and UCLA vs Kansas State.
The first primetime college football TV schedule of 2010 includes top ranked Alabama beginning their title defense against San Jose State at 7 pm, on ESPN Game Plan. ESPN has the first game between top 25 schools at 7:45 pm, as No. 24 Oregon State goes to No. 8 TCU.
15 minutes later, ABC carries the second top 25 showdown, as No. 21 LSU visits shorthanded, No. 18 North Carolina at 8 pm. However, the big game on the college football TV schedule 2010 this weekend isn't until Monday.
While today is the first major slate of college games, Monday night has the biggest matchup, between Boise State and Virginia Tech. ESPN will broadcast that game at 8 pm, as a crucial early part of the BCS title race is determined.
The college football TV schedule 2010 is obviously vast, spreading through many channels. Along with ESPN, ESPN 2, ABC and NBC, CBS will carry their usual amount of SEC matches, although they're busy with the US Open today. However, the CBS College Sports Network has BYU taking on Jake Locker and Washington at 7 pm.
Fans will be flipping through countless channels today, as they will for every Saturday up until December. With that, the college football schedule for 2010 is now truly under way.
