College in Georgia that Take GED

Sometimes, due to circumstances, it just isn't possible to complete high school in the standard four-year form. However, it is still possible to obtain your high school equivalency with a GED. The GED states you have mastered the general information taught in high school and allows you to proceed with a higher level of learning. While living in the state of Georgia you aren't going to have access to some of the top schools in the region, as these require a grade point and other social activities, but there are some colleges you can receive a fresh start from. It's just a matter of tracking these schools down. After spending a few years in a GED based college you are able to transfer the credits to a different institution that didn't take your original high school equivalency.

Waycross College is a public college located in Waycross, Georgia. This is roughly directly in the middle of Savannah, Valdosta and Jacksonville. The college accepts GEDs and 92 percent of individuals that apply for the school. The actual town of Waycross is small, but with larger cities only an hour or so away there is plenty to see and do on weekend day trips.

Bauder College is a private college located in Atlanta, Georgia. Although most private colleges are a little harder to get into, this is not the case with Bauder, as it accepts 100 percent of individuals that apply for the school. If you live in Atlanta, or a suburb of the city, you may want to consider this college. Due take into consideration the cost of tuition is higher than public schools as it does not receive state funding.

Located in Augusta, Georgia (about two hours from Savannah and one hour from both Athens and Atlanta) the Augusta Technical College accepts GEDs and takes in an estimated 95 percent of applicants. If you want a degree in a technical field, this is an exception school to start off in. A technical field is going to range from computer based positions to engineering jobs pertaining to automotive vehicles.

The Macon State College in Macon Georgia (roughly 45 minutes northwest of Savannah) accepts individuals with a GED, in addition to nearly 90 percent of individuals that apply. It is one of the larger schools in the state at over 6,000 students, so you have additional options for classes and teachers. The additional class options are to help out the enlarged college size.
