Summary of University:

Regis University is a Jesuit School, with a basis in Catholicism. However you do not have to be Catholic register for classes, just have a desire for learning. The main campus for RU is in Denver, CO. The actual campus is not in the best of neighborhoods although the campus has beautiful old buildings and large dorm rooms. The classes and offices are in large, pillared, stone buildings that can be a bit drafty. There are some real positives to going to this university. You have creative classes, some really interesting subjects, and online courses.

Courses:

At Regis you can not only go to classes while living on campus, but you can also take online courses. These qualify for just as many credits and you get to speak to professes all over the world. There are Irish Studies courses that are taught from Professors at a college is Galway, Ireland. A lot of the online business courses are taught by business owners all over the US, giving you a real hands on feel to the subjects. Easy courses to supplement in between the more difficult classes would be Advertising and Promotion, which is activity after activity after activity and no tests, and Business Law.

Food:

As a freshman on campus you are required to sign up for the cafeteria plan, which has standard cafeteria fare. Lots of pizza, salad, and a meat dish everyday. This plan allows you to eat as much as you want as long as the cafeteria is open. They also have other vendors that come in from off campus such as Dominos, Quiznos, and Chick Fil-A. This is paid on an a la carte basis which of course is more expensive in the long run. You also have a lot of off campus fare within walking distance. There is a coffee shop/café across the street, and a small burger and custard joint on the corner right before you hit the University. If you have a car main Denver is within 10 minutes where you can find any ethnic cuisine you desire.

Living on Campus:

RU allows you 4 different options of living arrangements. Freshman live in regular dorms which are long hallways with your room, housing 2 students and a communal bathroom for the floor, the floors are all co-ed. After freshman year you can a suite style room which is a room that has a bathroom, a townhouse arrangement with many rooms and bathrooms and a kitchen, or even a house arrangement with every amenity of home but with students in every room. The last option is more like a sorority or fraternity set up. Obviously pricing increases with each upgrade in living arrangements.

Entertainment:

Besides the many concerts and dances on campus put on by the school, you also have many things you can do just within Denver itself. There are many dance clubs that give discounts for college ids. The Church is a techno dance club within a Catholic Church building, which gives great acoustics. There is also the 16th Street Mall which is an outside mall going the length of 2 miles down 16th street, which contains restaurants and shops. There is also Elitches which is an Amusement Park and Water World which is a large water park in Denver's perimeter. Allowing most students the ability to play as hard as they study.
