No.10. Kevin Hogan Washington, DC: Committed to Stanford Cardinal
Kevin Hogan is a high school quarterback playing in a pro style offense which makes him a valuable commodity among college teams working in a pro style offense. Hogan is 6' 4" tall 200 pounds which is a perfect size frame for a quarterback entering college. Hogan will benefit from one year as an understudy to Andrew Luck at Stanford and this will lead to a definite opportunity to play in his sophomore season if he progresses at an accelerated rate.
No.9. Chad Jeffries Glendora, California: Committed to San Diego State Aztecs
Chad Jeffries is another quarterback in a pro style system that has opportunities in a rapidly changing San Diego State offense. Jeffries is hurt by the loss of head coach Brady Hoek to Michigan but the 6' 3" 195 quarterback is expected to stand by his verbal and sign with San Diego State tomorrow. Jeffries has a strong arm and the confidence to step up to the next level.
No.8. Tony McNeal Chester, South Carolina: Committed to Clemson Tigers
Tony McNeal is a good fit for the SEC style pro style offense of the Clemson Tigers. McNeal is a smart quarterback with speed and the ability to keep offenses honest. McNeal is not the fastest speed in the 40 of the high school recruits at the position. He runs a a 4.7 in the 40 but he does have superior instincts in the open field.
No.7. Reilly O'Toole Wheaton, Illinois: Committed to Illinois Fighting Illini
Reilly O'Toole is one of the biggest quarterbacks available in this years recruiting class. He stands 6' 4" and weighs in at 215 pounds. O'Toole will develop into a force in the Big Ten. He has the arm and he is not afraid to stand in the pocket. One plus in O'Toole's column is that he is a proven winner. He has led his high school team to two Illinois State Championships.
No.6. Kyle Boehm San Jose, California: Committed to California Golden Bears
Kyle Boehm is a pro style quarterback that will fit well into Jeff Tedford's scheme. Boehm is not a speedster. He runs a 4.89 in the 40. Boehm will be a pocket passer and he will make an impact as soon as his sophomore season. Boehm is athletic despite his lack of speed and can be elusive.
No.5. Zach Mettenberger El Dorado, Kansas: Committed to LSU Tigers
Zach Mettenberger is a junior college commit to LSU and he is not the prototypical LSU Tigers quarterback. Mettenberger stands 6' 5" 245 pounds and looks more like a linebacker instead of a quarterback. Mettenberger has shown a proclivity for getting into trouble and finds himself in this position because of an arrest while enrolled at Georgia.
No.4. Christian LeMay Mathews, North Carolina: Committed to Georgia Bulldogs
Potential is the key word with Christian LeMay. The talented and speedy quarterback recruit to Georgia missed his senior season of high school and is lighter than most college quarterback recruits. His 4.59 speed in the 40 may take a hit when he adds the 15-20 pounds to his frame as he bulks up for college. Don't expect to see LeMay on the field in 2011 but he will be a force in the SEC in years to come.
No.3. Brandon Allen Fayetteville, Arkansas: Committed to Arkansas Razorbacks
Brandon Allen is another pro style quarterback that will be a long term project for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Don't expect a Ryan Mallett type stand up quarterback in Allen. He is faster (4.7 in the 40) and he is not afraid to roll out of the pocket. Allen is smart, deadly accurate and a quick learner but he will possibly red shirt in 2011.
No.2. Max Wittek Santa Ana, California: USC Trojans
The USC Trojans recruited two quarterbacks against this recruiting class and the best of the two is Max Wittek. Wittek is a four star pick up out of legendary high school quarterback factory Mater Dei. Wittek is already familiar with the USC offense and could hit the ground running with a USC offensive staff that is looking to hit their stride in 2013. Wittek has the right size, 6' 4" 215 pounds and he has the tools to be a strong PAC 12 quarterback for years to come.
No.1. Jeff Driskel Oviedo, Florida: Florida Gators
Jeff Driskel is a two sport star with an arm that can make him millions quickly on the baseball diamond. He has verbally assured Florida he is signing tomorrow with the football team. Driskel has speed to get outside if his receivers are covered but he is smart enough to stay in the pocket and look for the open man.
Driskel has a quick release which will be critical in the SEC against some of the best defenses in the country. Driskel's speed in the 40 is 4.52 which ranks him as the fastest of the three and four star recruits. Look for Driskel to transition into the Florida Gator's offense in less than one year from today's date.
