College Sun Sign Astrology: Guide to a Productive Summer

The Best Use of Your Summer Break If You Are a College Student According to Sun Sign

Morgan Drake Eckstein
As the semester wraps up, many of us are busy making summer plans. Some of us are looking for summer work; others are signing up for the summer semester; there are even some students who are getting ready to take a much needed vacation. No matter what our plans, we are all hoping to make the best possible use of our summer.

Personally, I don't have much control over my summer schedule. Between my freelance writing and my wife, I have no free time. Or at least, no time that is not already spoken for. In my case, the stars merely incline; they do not control me; that is my wife's job.

Nevertheless, I have to consider how to best use my summer. Is it cheaper to call a plumber or attempt to fix the disobedient toilet myself? Are homegrown tomatoes really better than ones brought at the store? Money and energy are both limited, and I need to budget.

And it does not take a cracked crystal ball to see that my fellow students are in the same boat. We all have limited amounts of time and energy to spare this summer. So the question is how to best take advantage of our short summer?

Fortunately for all of us, our sun sign can give us a hint. Enjoy your summer. See you all in the fall.

Aries (March 21 to April 20): The best way for Aries to spend the summer is to work around the house. Clean things up, do repairs, make it more comfortable. Come fall, all the effort that you put into your home to make it more livable will pay off big by providing you a place of balance to retreat to when the universe gets too harsh.

Taurus (April 21 to May 21): The stubbornness of Taurus makes them leaders by default; unfortunately, just because others give ground before you to avoid being trampled upon does not give the skills of a natural leader. Spend the summer working on your leadership and interpersonal skills. A little effort on your part will go a long ways.

Gemini (May 22 to June 21): My apologizes to Gemini, but the best use of your summer is to spend it working. Whether it is on a long term project that you have been distracted from, or a chance to make some extra money, you should focus your attention on it. Perhaps this summer would be a good time to manifest a passive stream of income.

Cancer (June 22 to July 22): For the native of Cancer, summer is a good time to address issues of karma and balance. While your home tends to be a haven of comfort, the same can not be said of the rest of your life. You must make an effort to get the blockages out of the rest of your life. Start by being nicer to the people that annoy you.

Leo (July 23 to August 22): For Leos, summers are made of love. Whether it is a new relationship, or an already existing one, spending time with a significant other is a good way to spend your summer. By making a deep connection with someone, you strengthen your ability to relate to the rest of humanity, which is a vital skill for those who gravitate towards the spotlight.

Virgo (August 23 to September 22): Virgos would benefit the most from summer by taking a break from work and focusing instead in their spiritual aspirations. Much to your surprise, there is an entire world out there that does not involve a time clock and a paycheck. Explore the hidden spiritual spring of your soul; renew yourself by seeking out your life's purpose.

Libra (September 23 to October 22): Libras strive to create balance, to make everything fair. Ironically, the best use of their summer is in the pursuit of creating social advantages for themselves. Instead of looking at this as an unworthy way of spending your time, consider how increased networking and political connections will help you address injustices later in life.

Scorpio (October 23 to November 21): Scorpio's summer time would be best used for humanitarian projects. As someone who has suffered your own share of setbacks, some of them even of your won making, you understand the need for the occasional helping hand. So volunteer to help someone out; if nothing else you will make some new friends and gain some experience to pad your resume.

Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21): The best use of summer for Sagittarius is to reexamine those pieces and aspects of your life that you have either discarded or allowed to fall by the wayside. Modern life requires that we focus on a few interests and passions; it requires us to become specialists. Occasionally, the reasons that you used to choose your life's focus are outdated, and summer is a good time to bring stuff back into your life.

Capricorn (December 22 to January 19): One of the driving forces in a Capricorn's life is their long-term social ambitions. This concern can make you think twice before acting; and often results in you doing unpleasant things, so that you can reap the benefits later. Consider letting your hair down this summer, opting for fun instead. Just remember to make sure that none of the evidence is posted on the internet.

Aquarius (January 20 to February 18): For Aquarius, summer is a good time to open up the closet and actually clean it out. Organization is not a four-lettered word; you just think that it is. You spend most of your life disorganized and letting thing just pile up---laundry, dishes, commitments. Roll up your sleeves this summer and make a dent in the chaos.

Pisces (February 19 to March 20): During summer, Pisces should try something new: creating a budget. Instead of spending money faster than you earn it, try to get your expenses under control and put some aside for a rainy day. Yes, budgets are a bore, but ain't you tired of being broke all the time? Failing that, how about thinning out your belongings and giving some stuff to charity?
