College Sun Sign Astrology Starting a New Semester

How Your Sun Sign Reacts to the Beginning of a New Semester

Morgan Drake Eckstein
Aries (March 21 to April 20): Aries starts the new semester with a frenzy of activity. It is like watching a military invasion unfold; there is a lot of hustle and bustle. Unfortunately, this initial burst of energy does not always mean that one is going to get a good grade in one's classes. When Aries become bored, their energy plummets and they start to slack off. Aries is advised to take a variety of classes to maintain interest.

Taurus (April 21 to May 21): Taurus starts off slow at the beginning of the semester. They will continue moving slowly, but steadily throughout the semester. As long as the assignments are equally weighed and spaced out, Taurus will do well grade-wise. Given their tendency to ignore the social side of school, the hardest part of any course for Taurus will be group work. Taurus is advised to network, both to avoid isolation and to gather insight.

Gemini (May 22 to June 21): Gemini starts the semester by getting to know all their classmates. When it comes to learning the class material, Gemini tries to get away with just parroting back the answers found in the textbook. Gemini is like a dragonfly skimming along the surface. Gemini is advised to devote as much time and energy to studying as they do to making friends and extracurricular activities. They should also develop a habit of citing sources.

Cancer (June 22 to July 22): Cancer is miserable at the start of a new semester, especially if it disrupts their home life. As the tide of their emotions goes up and down, so does the amount of the energy that they put into their schoolwork. Fortunately, Cancer is good at memorizing facts, though they are in danger of letting their imagination color them. Cancer is advised to stock up on healthy comfort food to prevent snack machine raids.

Leo (July 23 to August 22): How Leo starts the semester depends upon the attitude of their professors. An uncaring professor will result in Leo loathing a class. Likewise, an understanding professor will drive a Leo to new heights of achievement. Despite the illusion of confidence that every Leo tries to project, their ego is a lot more fragile than they would like to admit. Discover what interests you, for you are more likely to stick with those subjects.

Virgo (August 23 to September 22): Virgo starts off the semester with new notebooks, folders and pens. Then they proceed to make sure that they write all the assignments down on a calendar. Bottom line---they are organized. This organization will carry over to their assignments. Virgo loves doing deep research. Unfortunately, Virgo can become distracted by fun, yet completely useless information. Virgo is advised to learn the limits of what is "good enough" and "only an A-."

Libra (September 23 to October 22): Libra starts off the semester wondering why there are so many rules, and why they have to prove that they have done their homework. As the semester rolls on, they will grumble about fellow students who are "calling it in." Ironically, Libra will be guilty of doing their assignments at the last possible minute. Libra is advised to take care when listening to other students who claim to know exactly what shortcuts to take.

Scorpio (October 23 to November 21): Scorpio starts off the semester by creating habits and routines. Their habits are almost talismanic; if they spend all night drinking coffee and studying before passing their first test, then they will come to believe that is the only way that they can pass a test. Scorpios are not slackers. The reason that their routines work is that Scorpio invests a lot of energy into their course work, something they tend to ignore.

Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21): The semester starts with fidgeting as far as Sagittarius is concerned. Sagittarius hates the confines of the classroom, the syllabus, and the required homework. The fidgeting descends into outright boredom as the semester goes on. Sagittarius is advised to keep both their health insurance and gym membership current, for occasionally they will come down with a health problem to relieve the boredom. If Sagittarius can learn to deal with boredom, they will do remarkably well.

Capricorn (December 22 to January 19): Capricorn starts each and every class asking, "How is this useful to me?" As long as there is a reasonable answer to that question, Capricorn is ok with all the restrictions imposed by the educational system. Capricorn will start the work of the semester slowly, but they will make steady progress as the term progresses. Capricorn is advised to maintain healthy sleeping habits; burning both ends of the candle depresses them.

Aquarius (January 20 to February 18): Aquarius hates the demands and restrictions of higher education. Their semester starts off with a deep heart searching about whether they really want to be attending classes. Once Aquarius reconciles their desire not to be in class with their understanding that their studies are important if they want to fulfill their future goals, they tend to rise to the occasion. Aquarius is advised to keep in mind the skills that they want to improve.

Pisces (February 19 to March 20): Pisces starts off the semester both excited and dismayed. Pisces looks forward to meeting new people and dreads the homework and exams. Pisces must learn to focus more on the course material and less on the people surrounding them. This is especially true when they are faced with people who do not care. Pisces is always in danger of being dragged down by the opinions of others; uncaring begets lack of work.
