College Teams with Hot Merchandise as the Holiday Season Approaches

College jerseys are always popular, and that's especially true for college football and college basketball. With the NCAA football season in full force right now, there are a bunch of teams with extremely hot jerseys. It's no coincidence that the hottest merchandise out there right now belongs to some of the hottest teams. As the holiday season quickly approaches it's important to get a handle on what's out there right now and what could make for potentially great gift ideas.

While a handful of teams still have legitimate BCS championship hopes, there are a few teams that control their own destiny. These teams have a few things in common. They are undefeated and play in large, power conferences in the NCAA. They have a quarterback that could be a Heisman candidate depending on how they season shakes out. The first is the Florida Gators, the defending national champions. The second is the Texas Longhorns, representing the Big 12 conference. The team got left out of the title picture last year because of some fuzzy math and tiebreakers, but this year they have a clear path to the title game as long as they remain undefeated.

Interestingly enough, whether you are chomping like a gator or hooking those horns, these teams have some of the largest lady fan groups out there. There are passionate women fans for both of these teams of all ages, which goes to show you how popular and prevalent they are.

Even though both of these teams are undefeated, both have shown some weakness this season. However, as November comes upon us both have maintained their records and as mentioned control their own destinies. It's not always about winning pretty - OK, with the BCS sometimes it is about winning pretty - but ultimately when you're Texas or Florida it's just about winning.
