Colon Cleanse Remedies Alternatives to Enemas and Laxatives

Ambriel Maji
The majority of people do not eat a complete healthy diet. Due to these unhealthy diets many people can suffer from intestinal disorders and upsets. Over use of enemas and laxative can have ill effects such as relaxing the sphincter muscles causing a person to lose control of their bowels. It is important to contact a health care provider if your symptoms last for more than 7 days or are accompanied by pain.

Alternatives to enemas and laxatives can be helpful for the occasional cleaning of your intestinal tract, but you should not become reliant on any form or method to do what your body should do naturally.

Salt Water Flushes: Salt water flushes work much in the way enemas work. They flush the body of toxins but they are consumed internally instead of using them like enemas. For a salt water flush you need distilled water and sea salt. Heat 1 quart of water and add 1 table spoon of sea salt. While the water is warm pour into a drinking container and consume quickly. The effects of a salt water flush can include headaches or nausea. If you have used enough salt, as everyone's body is different, you will experience loose stools.

Vegetable Juice: If you have a juicer you can make your own vegetable juice mixes to suit your taste. If you are not keen on the tastes of vegetable juices you can mix with juices that taste better. This will ensure you are getting a healthy supply of vegetables to keep your intestinal tract in proper working order. If you do not have a juicer purchase store made vegetables juices and mix your own to your liking.

Probiotics: Probiotics work by providing your body with good bacteria's that are commonly found in the foods we eat and already present in the body. While your body doesn't necessarily need additional probiotics there is evidence showing that probiotics help with disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome, diarrhea and intestinal infections.

It is important to add things to your diet to help maintain proper working colons such as grains, vegetables and fruits. These are top sources of fiber that help keep your intestinal tract moving along. Most expensive colon cleaning products have two main ingredients in them psyllum husk and bentonite clay. These items can also be picked up in many health or nutrition stores for half the price.
