Surrounded by the Arapaho National forest high in the Rockies is where you will find King Mountain Resort Ranch. Built in the 1920's in Granby it was initially a fox farm. In 1931, the owner lost the property and the fox farm ended. He then released all the foxes. Therefore, when you stay at this resort you may see the occasional fox outside.

The two lodges at the resort have 34 rooms which have either a king size bed or two double beds. The rooms have a great view of the surrounding mountains and the Buffalo Valley. Many rooms have a large redwood deck to relax on and enjoy the mountain scenery.

The King House is just the place for families or groups. There are eight bedrooms on three floors. The King House can accommodate up to 20 people. The spacious living area has a stone fireplace. There is also a full size kitchen and laundry facilities.

King Mountain Ranch Resort is proud of their customized programs for corporations and associations. Their creative team can work with you to help get the best out of your planned event. The conference room can hold up to 65 people with theatre seating. The library holds up to 45 people comfortably.

The King Boardroom is set up to accommodate 12 executives. They provide fax, phone, wireless Internet, computer networking, and audiovisual facilities. The staff at King Mountain is always ready and able to assist in making your event successful.

Dining at King Mountain Resort Ranch pays particular attention to creative and healthy menus. Breakfast includes either cooked to order breakfast options or their special order omelet station. There is also an assortment of breakfast cereals, baked goods, and fresh fruits.

Lunch is usually served buffet style. It can range from a good old western barbecue or one of their themed meals. This can be an Asian stir-fry, Italian pasta spread, or Creole dishes. There is also a wide variety of soups and salads.

Dinner starts with appetizers in the lounge and then moves upstairs to the dining area. Almost all dinners are served plate style with great attention paid to presentation. The dining room has a breath taking view of the ranch and valley below. There is a huge fireplace to knock the evening chill off you when you dine.

Horseback riding is one of the activities at the ranch. There are programs for beginner to the advanced rider. The trail rides take you through miles of mountains and open meadows. There are also organized riding lessons in the large practice arena. They are many different rides to select from such as breakfast rides; lunch rides and all day trail rides.

The King Mountain Resort Ranch also has hiking trails, fishing, skeet, and trap shooting. The new rifle range has a variety of different targets for beginners to advanced shooters. There are also prizes for the shooter with a perfect score.
