The accommodations at the ranch include a 110-year-old lodge and six separate cabins. All the buildings have extended porches with porch swings to relax in and enjoy the atmosphere. The two-story lodge includes a large living area with a massive stone fireplace for those chilly evenings. A recreation area in the lodge has many activities such as playing pool.
The main lodge has four spacious suites. The suites range from two to three bedrooms Daily maid service is provided. All the cabins and lodge suites has its own theme. Most are decorated in a wildlife theme such as horses, moose, bears, fish, eagles, and hawks to name just a few. Many of the cabins overlook the local river.
Dining at Cherokee Park Ranch is served family style. During the week, there are several cookouts that include steak, ribs, and chicken. Parents can also enjoy a candlelight dinner while the kids are having fun at their own cookout. Special dietary needs can always be accommodated.
Horseback riding at the ranch includes your selection of a horse from the 116 horses in the ranches herd. Riding needs are always met for the beginner to the more advanced. An overnight park trip that covers 28 miles is offered mid-June through August. Guest can also enjoy an old west camp out experience on this ride. If you are a cowboy at heart and want a real west experience, you are always welcome to join in the ranches cattle drive.
Cherokee Park Ranch has an extensive children's program. Groups are broken up according to age; there are two groups the 3 to 5 ear-old group and the 6 to 12 year-old group. Activities include hiking, fishing, nature walks, and panning for gold to name a few. Kids can even enjoy an overnight camp out in an authentic Indian teepee.
The North Fork of the Cache La Poudre River runs through the ranch and provides excellent fly-fishing. Brown trout are always a favorite catch. Fly-fishing instruction is available for anglers of all ages. Fishing tackle is available at the trading post located in the lodge.
Many other activities are available at Cherokee Park Ranch. River rafting, wildlife viewing, and sight seeing trips are just a few. The ranch is a favorite for many families for a summer vacation.
